Senior SLED Systems Engineer
Extreme Networks
• Partner with Account Executives to develop and execute account strategies and technical sales plans • Design and architect secure, scalable networking solutions aligned to customer business requirements • Deliver technical presentations, product demonstrations, and Proof of Concepts (POCs) • Provide consultative guidance across networking domains including wired, wireless, security, and cloud-managed solutions • Support evaluations, solution validation, and competitive differentiation during the sales cycle • Develop technical proposals, RFP responses, and solution documentation • Act as a trusted technical advisor to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders • Deliver customer and partner enablement through training, workshops, and technical briefings • Collaborate with product management and engineering to provide field feedback and influence direction • Support post-sales escalations as needed to ensure customer success
Job Requirements
- 7–10+ years of experience in systems engineering, pre-sales engineering, or related technical roles
- Strong expertise in networking technologies including switching, routing, wireless, and security
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and architectures
- Experience delivering customer-facing presentations, demos, and technical workshops
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex network environments
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex customer engagements
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with cloud-managed networking platforms
- Background in high-density wireless design and optimization
- Exposure to automation, scripting, or API-driven networking
- Industry certifications (e.g., CCNP, CWNP, or equivalent)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience

Role Description The Security Designer will be part of our national IES Design Branch and will be highly skilled in designing advanced professional CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection solutions, as well as other security systems, in the commercial security integration industry. The role involves providing consulting and design services for technology-enhanced spaces. The designer will actively participate in the design process for multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and the delivery of top-quality work to our clients. - Contribute as a key member of the project design team, bringing a significant level of expertise in Security systems and related design elements, with a forward-thinking perspective. - Engage in design meetings with our clients to determine project goals and requirements. - Develop Security systems recommendations. - Work collaboratively with the CAD/BIM Staff to develop high-quality Security infrastructure construction drawings, details, and systems drawings. - Review submittals of shop drawings, coordinating with architects, contractors, engineers, and other consultants. - Review intake forms or site surveys, designing customer solutions based on requirements, and producing documentation suitable for system installation and control system programming scopes. - Produce advanced Security designs including system line diagrams for CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems. - Read architectural, mechanical, and electrical (MEP) drawing sets. - Design with the latest Security products including but not limited to Avigilon, Bosch, Genetec, Honeywell, etc. - Create system integration documents, including Basis of Designs and CSI Specifications. - Communicate and coordinate technical design solutions with clients, installation teams, and vendors. - Provide operational team staff with high-end technical support on both pre- and post-design efforts. - Contribute to the design review and code review as required. - Develop and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers. - Ensure that all work is completed on-time, in-budget, and consistently within IES's high standards of quality. - Act as a liaison and meet with sales, project management, and operations when the project is handed over for installation. - Ensure that the sales price aligns with the actual installation costs. - Other responsibilities as assigned.
