Role Description The Security Designer will be part of our national IES Design Branch and will be highly skilled in designing advanced professional CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection solutions, as well as other security systems, in the commercial security integration industry. The role involves providing consulting and design services for technology-enhanced spaces. The designer will actively participate in the design process for multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and the delivery of top-quality work to our clients. - Contribute as a key member of the project design team, bringing a significant level of expertise in Security systems and related design elements, with a forward-thinking perspective. - Engage in design meetings with our clients to determine project goals and requirements. - Develop Security systems recommendations. - Work collaboratively with the CAD/BIM Staff to develop high-quality Security infrastructure construction drawings, details, and systems drawings. - Review submittals of shop drawings, coordinating with architects, contractors, engineers, and other consultants. - Review intake forms or site surveys, designing customer solutions based on requirements, and producing documentation suitable for system installation and control system programming scopes. - Produce advanced Security designs including system line diagrams for CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems. - Read architectural, mechanical, and electrical (MEP) drawing sets. - Design with the latest Security products including but not limited to Avigilon, Bosch, Genetec, Honeywell, etc. - Create system integration documents, including Basis of Designs and CSI Specifications. - Communicate and coordinate technical design solutions with clients, installation teams, and vendors. - Provide operational team staff with high-end technical support on both pre- and post-design efforts. - Contribute to the design review and code review as required. - Develop and maintain knowledge of current and new technologies that the company offers. - Ensure that all work is completed on-time, in-budget, and consistently within IES's high standards of quality. - Act as a liaison and meet with sales, project management, and operations when the project is handed over for installation. - Ensure that the sales price aligns with the actual installation costs. - Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications - Minimum of five years of experience in the design and implementation of Security systems; experience with an independent consulting firm is a strong plus. - Extensive knowledge in the design of Security systems, including but not limited to: surveillance and CCTV; access control and various credential technology; intrusion detection. - Intimate knowledge of Security architectural requirements including but not limited to: sightline studies; structural support requirements; cabling pathways; architectural integration of Security equipment. - General knowledge of Information Technology (IT) services and digital media delivery technologies, network hardware, infrastructure, and system architecture. - Excellent attention to detail and outstanding communication skills, both oral and written. - Values that include integrity, accountability, and a willingness to have fun. - Works equally well as an individual contributor or team member. - Maintains a professional and positive attitude in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment. - Ability to assist with business development activities is preferred but required. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office and BlueBeam. Requirements - Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. - RCDD, or other low-voltage design credentials are strongly preferred. - Low Voltage design industry experience required. - Must be able to manage multiple scopes. - Must have experience in customer interface, such as liaison between the customer and the Company. - Must have a minimum of five (5) years of low-voltage Design experience. - Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in low voltage contracting or a related technical or construction field. - Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project). - Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit is strongly preferred. - Must meet Company minimum driving standards. - Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. - Must have proven ability to design and develop a written and graphic representation of the company’s proposed solutions utilizing the software resources provided by the Company. Benefits - Minimum Salary: USD $100,000.00/Yr. - Maximum Salary: USD $125,000.00/Yr.

• Collaborate closely with the Manager of Systems to align system strategies with firmwide objectives. • Collaborate with the Systems Engineering team on the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of compute and virtualization platforms and complete server/systems infrastructure management. • Champion best practices, system automation, and performance optimization initiatives. • Collaborate with the team to design, implement, and manage the firm’s core systems, including compute, networks, storage, Exchange, physical and virtual servers, Active Directory and Group Policy, Certificate Services, authentication platforms, and remote access/mobility solutions. • Administer and support cloud-based platforms and services such as Microsoft Azure, Office 365, and AWS. • Manage and administer Citrix VDI, Load balancing systems and SSL Certificate Management. • Monitor, maintain, and optimize system performance to ensure reliability, scalability, and security. • Perform routine, scheduled, and long-term maintenance, as well as user-facing service tasks, to maintain a high standard of operational excellence. • Provide expert-level escalation support for complex technical issues. • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including processes, procedures, troubleshooting guides, training materials, and change management records. • Participate in the on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed. • Be available for occasional overtime, non-standard hours, or travel in support of projects and operational needs.
