Role Description Looking for Philippines-based candidates Job Role: Construction Estimator / Quantity Surveyor Compensation range: $1,800 AUD - $2,200 AUD / Monthly Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time. Due to continued growth, the team is seeking an experienced, detail-driven Construction Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of core estimating outputs across bespoke new builds and major renovations valued between $1.5M – $10M AUD. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders (Contract Administrators, Project Managers, and site leadership), along with leading architects and consultants, helping the business price accurately, present clearly, and make confident early-stage decisions. Key Responsibilities - Complete detailed quantity take-offs from architectural, structural, and services documentation. - Build and maintain trade-based estimates (labour, materials, plant) aligned with company templates. - Prepare and issue RFQ packages, scope sheets, and tender queries to subcontractors and suppliers. - Review and level subcontractor quotes, identify scope gaps, and produce comparisons and recommendations. - Assist with value management options and alternatives (rate-based and clearly explained). - Produce accurate internal reports including cost plans, estimate summaries, allowances, exclusions, and risk notes. - Maintain and continuously improve the company price list and rate library. - Provide clear, concise responses to project teams to keep procurement and decision-making progressing efficiently. Qualifications - Minimum 5 years’ experience estimating for high-end residential and/or commercial fit-out projects. - Strong proficiency in Cubit (required) and confidence working from detailed consultant documentation sets. - High attention to detail with strong commercial judgement (scope gaps, exclusions, allowances, and risk). - Excellent written communication, able to explain pricing logic clearly and confidently. - Comfortable working remotely with a Sydney-based team. - Strong Excel skills; experience with Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar tools is beneficial. Executive Operations and Coordination - Synthesize information across the Data and Technology organization (Data Foundry, Data Products, Data Intelligence teams) and present high-level digests to the Vice President, Data Operations and Technology Officer. - Identify emerging operational bottlenecks and flag them proactively for resolution. - Coordinate cross-team dependencies and track resolution status against commitments. - Prepare meeting agendas, briefing documents, and decision-ready summaries. - Support operational coordination and stakeholder alignment on strategic initiatives. Strategic Initiative Execution - Drive execution of WCT Data Strategy v6.0 (2026-2028) across 17 phases during the term of this engagement. - Support planning and execution of the Azure and Databricks medallion lakehouse initiative spanning dual tenants (Catalyst and Worldwide). - Support planning and execution of clinical data integration initiatives (Partex.AI and Innoplexus integration). - Track progress, identify obstacles, and escalate risks to the Vice President, Data Operations and Technology Officer with recommended mitigation approaches. - Coordinate stakeholder communication and alignment. Program and Project Management Coordination - Serve as primary connector between Director-level stakeholders and the Senior Manager of Technology Operations (India-based role) on the Data and Technology team and cross-functional partners, ensuring alignment of priorities and execution. - Interface with the Data and Technology Program Manager to support alignment of portfolio priorities, resource allocation, and strategic roadmap execution. - Coordinate with enterprise program managers and the EPMO (Enterprise Program Management Office) on strategic initiatives, governance, and reporting. - Maintain visibility into program dependencies, timelines, and resource constraints across the data technology portfolio. - Translate between technical teams, program management, and executive stakeholder expectations. - Lead and/or support the tracking of project health metrics, identify risks and schedule variances, and escalate with mitigation recommendations. - Ensure alignment across program governance structures (steering committees, portfolio reviews, executive dashboards). Strategic Documentation and Analysis - Support development and iteration of strategic documents including architecture specifications, integration requirements, and hiring job descriptions. - Shepherd the creation of visual representations for complex systems, integration flows, and organizational structures. - Synthesize technical specifications, vendor proposals, and evaluation frameworks for decision-making. - Document strategic decisions, rationale, and implementation plans.
