Senior Payroll Specialist
VIP (Vermont Information Processing)
• Support accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple locations, ensuring employees are paid correctly and on schedule • Manage key payroll activities, including employee changes, earnings, deductions, bonuses, commissions, garnishments, and off-cycle payments • Responsible for Canadian and Indian payroll processing, ensuring compliance with local statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements in each country • Partner with Accounting, People Operations, and business teams to ensure payroll information is accurate, complete, and aligned across systems • Support payroll system administration (Paycom preferred), including employee data maintenance, reporting, troubleshooting, and process improvements • Assist with payroll-related reconciliations, reporting, month-end activities, and audit requests • Maintain payroll records and support compliance with applicable payroll, wage and hour, and employment requirements across jurisdictions • Partner with internal teams and external providers to support an evolving global payroll environment • Respond to employee payroll questions with accuracy, professionalism, discretion, and a customer-service mindset • Help identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve accuracy, leverage automation, and scale payroll operations as VIP grows • Stay informed on payroll trends, system enhancements, and regulatory changes that may impact payroll practices
Job Requirements
- Experience supporting payroll operations in a fast-paced, growing organization
- Working knowledge of payroll processes, payroll systems, and applicable payroll regulations
- Experience with multi-state payroll required; exposure to global payroll operations preferred
- Experience working with payroll technology platforms; Paycom experience a plus
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and data integrity
- Ability to research issues, solve problems, and continuously improve how work gets done
- Strong communication skills and the ability to partner effectively across teams
- Comfort working independently while collaborating in a remote and distributed environment
- Interest in growing your payroll expertise and contributing to a modern, scalable payroll function
