IT - Test Engineer III Location: Home, Virginia (Remote) Job Description: Role Overview This position requires a Senior Functional Test Lead to carry out procedures ensuring that payroll application products and services meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. Required Qualifications Experience: A minimum of thirteen (13) years of experience in software development, software quality assurance/control, or a related field. Extensive experience with formal software testing for complex applications, including identifying and documenting defects, and authoring quality-related documentation like test plans and reports. Experience with multiple defect tracking tools is also required. Technical Skills: Proficient in running manual tests and incorporating automated testing processes. Knowledge of the software development cycle and testing methodologies. Payroll domain knowledge is required, including understanding of payroll cycles, tax calculations, deductions, and federal, state, and local regulations. Experience using AI-driven tools for test script generation is necessary. Additional Requirements: All candidates must be a US Citizen or have permanent residence status (Green Card). The candidate must have lived in the US for the past 5 years and cannot have more than 6 months of travel outside the United States within the last five years, excluding military service. Preferred Qualifications - A degree from an accredited College/University in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline. - Working knowledge of DevSecOps, Agile Scrum, and VersionOne or an equivalent tool. - Knowledge of and experience with SDLC practices. - Experience with payroll systems and processing. - Familiarity with AI/ML tools (e.g., CoPilot, WatsonX, ReDux) for code analysis or pattern recognition. - Mainframe knowledge is a plus. The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy, reliability, and performance of the Facets platform as it transitions from legacy systems. This role oversees the strategy, design, and execution of automated testing across multiple test phases and environments, driving quality standards and delivering insights that inform system readiness. Key Responsibilities - Managing the dual-run testing and validation program to ensure the Facets platform achieves a 95% or greater claim match rate compared to legacy systems. - Developing the comprehensive Dual Run Test Plan, including test strategy, entry/exit criteria, automation scope, and validation approach. - Designing modern test automation frameworks and testing methods that support SIT, regression, end-to-end, and volume/performance testing. - Leading the planning, coordination, and execution of automated and manual test activities. - Overseeing the creation, maintenance, and optimization of automated test scripts using tools such as Cucumber, Selenium, Postman, JUnit, Jira, or TestRail. - Tracking test metrics, defect trends, and dual run comparison results; producing variance dashboards and analytics. - Driving the Go/No-Go recommendation process through evidence-based reporting and risk analysis. - Creating, maintaining, and enforcing the Quality Management Plan, including testing standards and processes. - Providing leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to test automation engineers and functional testers. - Working closely with development, architecture, operations, and business teams to ensure aligned test coverage and issue resolution.
