Communications Specialist

Firstup

• Own and execute content plans and editorial calendars for internal communications and the customer community platform, ensuring timely and relevant delivery. • Create compelling content to support Firstup’s Strategic Priorities that aligns and engages employees, drives measurable engagement, and supports business outcomes. • Plan, create and execute communications campaigns to support key initiatives, product launches, events from concept through delivery and optimization. • Edit, publish, and elevate customer stories, employee voice, and functional content to drive engagement and advocacy. • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business goals into clear, cohesive communication plans and messaging, resulting in positive outcomes for the business. • Analyze engagement data, platform performance, and audience behavior to identify trends, generate insights, and recommend improvements. • Continuously test, refine, and optimize content formats, cadence, and channels to improve reach and engagement. • Manage details for virtual events such as Town Halls, AMAs, internal awards events, and customer-led sessions, owning logistics, content coordination, promotion and execution. • Lead efforts to recognize internal and external community contributors, strengthening participation and connection. • Maintain platform health and governance, including content organization, tagging, archiving, and hygiene best practices. • Build strong relationships with partners across the business to source stories, identify opportunities, and ensure message alignment. • Lead as an expert and trusted communications partner, advising stakeholders on messaging, timing, audience targeting and channel strategy.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or similar field of study, or commensurate professional experience.
  • Four or more years of experience in communications, marcomm or digital community support.
  • Experience using internal communications platforms and tools; experience using Firstup platform preferred.
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills, with demonstrated expertise of AP Style guidelines, and the ability to tailor and target messages across audiences and channels; ability to create graphics and edit video a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and adapt to evolving priorities.
  • Growth mindset and passion for employee and customer engagement.
  • Strong interpersonal skills in building relationships and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
