Digital Communications Specialist

Equus Workforce Solutions

• Creative Content Development: Design flyers, brochures, infographics, and digital assets for workforce programs, job fairs, and events. • Photograph, record, edit, and produce short-form video content including client testimonials, success stories, and promotional materials. • Technical Communications: Utilize interactive maps and dashboards to visualize labor market data, employer locations, and service coverage. • Support integration of technical tools for presentations, reports, and internal communications. • Social Media & Digital Outreach: Manage and grow presence across platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. • Develop content calendars and social media campaigns aligned with regional workforce goals. • Analyze engagement metrics and recommend strategies to improve reach and impact. • Brand & Storytelling Strategy: Ensure all materials align with the organization's branding and messaging guidelines. • Collaborate with program staff to identify client stories that highlight the impact of workforce services. • Interview participants and partners in a respectful, inclusive manner to gather content. • General Support: Assist with email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and website content updates. • Participate in regional events, capturing live content for digital use. • Provide training or support to staff in basic communications tools as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Graphic Design, Multimedia Production, Marketing, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Experience with ArcGIS (StoryMaps, Dashboards, etc.) and other data visualization platforms.
  • Proficient in creative suites (Adobe, Canva, MS, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of social media best practices and content scheduling tools (e.g., Hootsuite, SocialPilot, Mailchimp)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management and time management skills.
  • Passion for community impact and workforce equity.
  • Friendly, professional demeanor.

Role Description The Publications Coordinator works closely with the Director of Publications and Senior Managing Editor, Journals, to support the Publications department in its delivery of an extensive portfolio of eNews communications tools and widely read print and online publications. The Publications department manages leading high-quality member resources to advance the specialty and make research more accessible. Position responsibilities include various operational activities for ASA Monitor, Anesthesiology, and Anesthesiology Open. Primary Position Responsibilities: - Monitor the Anesthesiology Open editorial pipeline and highlight for the Senior Managing Editor any issues related to the timeliness or execution of all stages of the peer review process and production. Report on journal performance data in weekly meeting with the journal team. - Monitor transfer invitations sent by Anesthesiology to Anesthesiology Open. Send templated follow-up messages and coordinate with the Executive Editor to send customized outreach emails as needed. - Participate in editorial board meetings and functions for the Anesthesiology Journals. In collaboration with Senior Managing Editor, coordinate activities and meetings of the Anesthesiology Open Editorial Board. Coordinate general communications with the Anesthesiology Open Editorial Board. Maintain spreadsheet of Editorial Board member terms and send annual appointments and agreements communications. - Assist with research activities and data collection projects for Anesthesiology Journals (i.e., quarterly reports for CME program). - Primary responsibility to log incoming ASA Monitor content and track article elements for completion. Conduct preliminary checks of article formatting, headshots, author bios, and disclosure forms. Communicate with column editors to ensure timely article submission. - Send out monthly ASA Monitor author copyright transfer and disclosure agreements via Convey. Ensure disclosure forms are received by publication deadline; record on issue lineup and conflict of interest acknowledgment in articles. - Coordinate ASA Monitor website changes with the publisher. - Work with ASA Monitor Today team to upload, proof, and publish content. - Coordinate reprint permission requests. Determine if the request is within the ASA guidelines and reach out to legal or senior staff when questionable. Organize communications for signature and coordinate distribution. - Assist with other publications tasks as assigned. - Ability to perform work in alignment with ASA core values: Dedication, Collaboration, Commitment to Excellence, Continuous Improvement. Qualifications - Associates degree in English, Communications, or related field preferred. - Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably in publishing. - Excellent organizational, time-management, and proofreading skills. - High degree of computer proficiency including MS Office, Adobe, and meeting software (i.e. Teams, Zoom, etc.). Familiarity with manuscript peer-review systems helpful. - Ability to monitor the progress of tasks and projects and provide timely follow-up. - Highly developed interpersonal skills, with strong customer service orientation. - Demonstrate personal integrity in interactions with publishing and editorial partners and in communication with members and staff.
