Staff Technical Writer

• Collaborate with software engineers and product managers to document REST APIs, SDK workflows, and cloud-based architecture. • Maintain and organize internal technical knowledge bases using Polarion.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years technical writing experience, preferably developing highly-technical user documentation for advanced engineering customers.
- Experience developing API and SDK documentation for the iOS and Android platforms.
- Hands on experience with Polarion.
- BA/BS in Technical Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Excellent written English skills.
- Excellent verbal interpersonal skills.
- Eagerness and aptitude to learn new technologies quickly.
- Ability to contribute broadly to documentation structure and design.
- Comfort with a changing, dynamic software development environment.
- Able to handle high workload, multiple responsibilities, and tight deadlines.

• Develop, edit, and maintain end-user documentation, work aids, user guides, release notes, FAQs, and training materials for enterprise applications. • Prepare internal and external communications related to software releases, system enhancements, maintenance activities, and user notifications. • Collaborate directly with NHTSA business stakeholders to gather information and create user-facing documentation and job aids. • Create and maintain documentation in Confluence and organize project knowledge repositories. • Work with project managers, business analysts, developers, testers, and product owners to understand application changes and translate them into user-friendly documentation. • Maintain documentation standards and ensure all deliverables are accurate, consistent, and aligned with federal documentation guidelines. • Update existing documentation to reflect system enhancements and production releases. • Support user adoption by creating instructional materials and documentation for new features and functionality.
• Research, analyze, and synthesize project, operational, and financial information from multiple sources to develop comprehensive project status reports, completion reports, donor updates, and stewardship communications. • Develop original donor-facing project fulfillment packages and stewardship materials that effectively communicate project impact, outcomes, and funding utilization. • Draft, edit, and refine solicitation proposals, project narratives, and strategic communications tailored to donor and stakeholder audiences. • Evaluate project information and documentation to identify inconsistencies, information gaps, or reporting risks, and collaborate to resolve issues and ensure reporting accuracy. • Review, edit, and enhance written materials to ensure clarity, consistency, accuracy, compliance with organizational standards, and alignment with donor expectations. • Collaborate with program, finance, and project stakeholders to ensure reporting aligns with approved budgets and donor restrictions.
