Senior Network Architect
Akamai Technologies
• Architecting, documenting, building and supporting solutions that foster efficient and streamlined processes • Working with vendors and internal organizations to build out large points of presence across the globe • Designing large scale connectivity solutions including carrier transport solutions, dark fiber, and DWDM • Collaborating with the cross-functional teams on standards and processes for deployments and updating documentation accordingly • Developing router configuration standards for complex global networks
Job Requirements
- 12 years relevant experience in complex networks
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent experience
- Familiar with building and deploying infrastructure and distributed systems that handle large scale network traffic
- Demonstrate technical and commercial knowledge of Internet network topology and architecture, IP routing, and CDN/Compute/Security platforms
- Demonstrate technical and commercial knowledge of dark fiber, DWDM systems, waves, Internet exchanges, and IP transit
- Know how to evaluate telecommunications and datacenter offerings: waves, cross connects, MMRs, dark fiber, space, and power
- Be a highly organized self-starter who is comfortable working with cross-functional teams
