Field Applications Engineer
Ultra Intelligence & Communications
• Provide pre‑sales technical expertise for Ultra Communications Line of Sight (LOS) and (Beyond Line-of-Sight) BLOS tactical radio systems. • Support BD/Sales teams by interpreting customer requirements and aligning them with Ultra’s product capabilities. • Present and explain system designs, applications, and technical concepts to customers and internal stakeholders. • Assess customer needs and evaluate how Ultra’s solutions compare to competing technologies. • Plan, coordinate, and execute on‑site demonstrations, field trials, exercises, and customer engagements. • Manage the logistical and technical setup required for successful demos, including equipment preparation, configuration, and connectivity. • Troubleshoot issues encountered during pre‑sales events to ensure the product performs as intended, and customer confidence is maintained. • Develop customer-facing materials such as briefings, CONOPS, OV‑1s, and competitive analyses. • Collaborate effectively with geographically dispersed teams across time zones.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering) or equivalent experience
- 5–10 years of experience in technical sales engineering or pre‑sales roles within the defense sector
- Strong background in LOS/BLOS communications technologies
- Experience working with U.S. government procurement processes, acquisition frameworks, and DoD budget structures
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret or NATO Secret clearance (U.S. citizenship required for U.S. clearance)
- Ability to travel up to 40% to U.S., Canadian, and international locations.
