Title and Summary Director, Acceptance Specialist Sales - Mexico As a pivotal leader within Mastercard's Acceptance strategy for North LAC, the Director, Acceptance Development - Mexico will spearhead the commercialization, expansion, and innovation of the acceptance ecosystem in Mexico, while serving as a key contributor to the broader North LAC growth agenda. This executive will act as the primary strategic lead for driving scalable acceptance opportunities across acquirers, PayFacs, PSPs, aggregators, merchants, and service providers. The role requires a highly commercial, data-driven, and execution-focused leader capable of structuring complex, multi-party deals that accelerate market share expansion, product penetration, and ecosystem growth. The successful candidate will combine deep knowledge of the Mexican payments' ecosystem with strong leadership capabilities, executive influence, and an entrepreneurial mindset to unlock new growth vectors including low-cost acceptance, Tap on Phone, tokenization, digital onboarding, data-driven services, and next-generation commerce solutions. This position plays a critical role in translating Mastercard's regional Acceptance strategy into tangible revenue growth, competitive differentiation, and ecosystem scale in Mexico.Role & Responsibilities The selected candidate will: • Lead the end-to-end Acceptance growth strategy for Mexico, identifying and converting new business opportunities across acquirers, PayFacs, merchants, fintechs, and ecosystem enablers.• Develop and execute comprehensive commercialization plans to expand market share, increase activation and usage, and accelerate acceptance penetration across priority segments including SMEs, enterprise merchants, tourism, and emerging verticals.• Originate, structure, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, ensuring win-win outcomes aligned with Mastercard's strategic objectives and long-term ecosystem positioning.• Build and maintain strong executive-level relationships with customers and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted strategic advisor in acceptance modernization and infrastructure transformation.• Drive disciplined pipeline management through SFDC, ensuring visibility, forecasting accuracy, and consistent progress toward revenue and strategic KPIs.• Lead high-impact sales presentations, RFP responses, business case development, executive proposals, and contract negotiations with strong financial acumen and commercial rigor.• Partner cross-functionally with Account Management, Market Development, Product, Services, Fraud, Marketing, and Implementation teams to ensure flawless execution and seamless transition from deal structuring to delivery.• Champion the voice of the market internally, influencing product roadmaps, innovation priorities, and go-to-market strategies to ensure alignment with evolving customer and industry needs.• Identify white space opportunities and emerging trends in the Mexican payments landscape, proactively shaping Mastercard's acceptance agenda in areas such as tokenization, Tap on Phone, Acceptance-as-a-Service, data analytics, and intelligent commerce.• Provide thought leadership within North LAC, contributing to regional strategy discussions, performance reviews, and long-term acceptance expansion frameworks.
