The UHS Corporate Insurance Department is seeking a dynamic and talented Coordinator- Emergency Preparedness. Under supervision of the Corporate Director and managers of Environment of Care/Emergency Preparedness, assists with organizational efforts in planning, implementation, evaluation, and management of the UHS Emergency Management and Environmental Risk programs. This is a remote opportunity with frequent travel required to assigned facilities and other locations as necessary. - Assist corporate leadership and facilities with the implementation, monitoring, and enforcement of all aspects of UHS and industry standard Emergency Management and Environmental Risk programs. - Perform analysis and provide guidance in emergency preparedness and environmental risk in addition to interpreting regulatory compliance standards (TJC, CMS, etc.) for acute care and behavioral health facilities. - Support in assigned facility audits, consultative visits and other regulatory surveys as deemed necessary by the Corporate Director of Environment of Care/Emergency Preparedness. - Provide support to corporate leadership with education and exercises for Emergency Management and Environmental Risk programs. - Monitor and provide assistance with facility’s programs corrective action plans when requested. Maintain communication with appropriate corporate and facility leadership and personnel. - Support Corporate Patient Safety, Employee Safety, Workplace Violence Programs as assigned, including the Facility/Design and Construction safety initiatives. Qualifications - Associates' degree or technical school required. - A minimum of one to three years of experience in an acute or behavioral healthcare organization with increasing responsibility in emergency management and environmental risk programs. - Possess critical thinking skills and independent analysis of identified problems, effectively problem solves utilizing appropriate resources for corrective actions. - Basic understanding of risk identification and prevention. - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. - Ability to maintain confidentiality of work product. - Effective organizational and administrative skills. - Ability to collaborate with facility-based staff, using effective interpersonal verbal and written communication skills. - Knowledge of Emergency Preparedness requirements for healthcare. - Familiarity with security and safety practices, theory in a healthcare setting. - Familiarity with hazardous materials and waste program for healthcare environment. - Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. - Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations, applicable state licensure and accreditation laws and regulations. - Knowledge and skills with use of computer and various software products (i.e., Windows, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, ZOOM). - Skill in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures.
