Field Service Engineer
Vantage Specialty Chemicals
• Focus on the installation, technical optimization, and troubleshooting of equipment at customer facilities • Schedule, coordinate, and monitor assigned equipment installation projects • Create detailed inspection reports capturing condition of equipment and efficiency of process • Interact with clients to comprehend project requirements and design equipment solutions • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Engineering teams • Ensure installed equipment complies with standards, codes, policies, practices, and specifications • Provide off-site technical support to customers • Carry out activities safely, following company procedures; ensuring all work is properly documented • Build and develop new and existing accounts, managing sales opportunities
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Technical Sciences, or a related discipline desired
- Mechanical Engineering Degree strongly preferred
- 3+ years of experience in field engineering, project management, field operations, or equipment integration
- Strong mechanical aptitude with direct, hands on applications
- Experience reading electrical schematics and CAD diagrams
- Required experience using hand tools and performing electrical wiring in the field
- Physical requirements include lifting up to 60 pounds and ability to stand on your feet for 8+ hours
- Advanced skill in MS Office Suite of tools
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required
- Good verbal communication skills and ability to write technical reports or documents
- Familiarity with PLCs and HMIs, including basic programming, diagnostics, and troubleshooting is preferred
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions with minimal supervision, while also collaborating effectively as part of a cross‑functional team
