Lead Automotive – Industrial Design Consultant
Gravity Sketch
• Diagnose customer problems and shape plans • Work with customers to understand their current design and engineering workflows, challenges, stakeholders, and success criteria. • Identify the problem space in new accounts, new workflows, or unfamiliar customer contexts and clearly articulate the benefits of leveraging Gravity Sketch over their traditional processes. • Translate discovery into clear engagement plans, rollout recommendations, workshop proposals, and customer-facing decks. • Define what success should look like for customer engagements, including adoption goals, workflow outcomes, and measurable impact. • Lead advanced consulting engagements • Lead complex onboarding programmes, advanced workshops, pilots, demos, and workflow transformation engagements. • Work across design, engineering, visualisation, CMF, leadership, and other customer teams. • Tailor delivery for different audiences, from hands-on designers to senior stakeholders. • Help customers understand how Gravity Sketch can fit into automotive and industrial design workflows, including concept development, collaboration, review, and commercialisation. • Set best practice and influence the team • Develop and share best practices, reusable frameworks, workshop structures, and workflow approaches. • Influence how the wider Design Consulting team approaches delivery through your work and expertise. • Create scalable training and enablement content that can be reused across customers and verticals. • Coach and support other Design Consultants in planning and delivering high quality customer engagements. • Partner cross-functionally • Work closely with Customer Success Managers to align on account strategy, customer health, rollout plans, and adoption priorities. • Partner with Sales on late-stage opportunities and strategic demos where workflow credibility is critical. • Provide structured feedback to Product based on real customer workflows, blockers, and opportunities. • Help internal teams understand the customer problem space and the value Gravity Sketch can unlock. • Measure and communicate impact • Define and track success metrics across engagements. • Build compelling narratives around adoption, workflow transformation, customer value, and ROI. • Communicate outcomes clearly to customers and internal stakeholders. • Identify where additional resources, content, product support, or commercial alignment are needed.
Job Requirements
- Based in the UK or Europe, with ability to travel for customer workshops, internal sessions, and strategic engagements when needed.
- Strong experience in automotive design, industrial design, design technology, design consulting, or customer-facing workflow transformation. 8+ Years experience is desirable.
- Strong understanding of automotive design workflows (concept to Class-A surfacing to visualisation)
- Passion and curiosity: Avid interest in VR, design, and understanding how different products are made; curious personality who enjoys digging deep to understand and solve problems.
- Experience working with design software, 3D tools, CAD, VR, visualisation, or adjacent creative technology. This could include tools such as Gravity Sketch, Rhino, Alias, CATIA, Blender, KeyShot, Modo, Vizcom, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar.
- You do not need deep expertise in every tool, but you must be able to quickly understand unfamiliar workflows and identify where a tool can create customer value.
- Strong ability to structure ambiguity: discovery, synthesis, problem framing, planning, and recommendation-building.
- Excellent deck-building and storytelling skills, with the ability to turn customer context into a clear plan or proposal.
- Comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders as well as hands-on users.
- Highly self-directed and able to lead engagements without close supervision.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple high-impact projects.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to partner effectively with Customer Success and Sales.
- People-oriented: Excellent communicator, both written and verbal in English; great listening and relationship-building skills; ability to adjust communication styles to varying personality types.
- Curious, practical, positive, and energised by helping customers adopt new ways of working.
