Role Description Hardware Design & Estimation Engineer participates in electrical control design and solutioning. Utilizing standards in electrical controls design. Comfortable with hands-on design and product development, familiar with ProposalWorks and Estimating Controls Projects. Thrive in fast-paced uncertain environments. Join our team to achieve the next level in system integration. - Work with Controls group to provide estimation for Controls Scope. - Follow all safety guidelines, wear appropriate PPE and be safety first oriented. - Follow Standards set forth by Kuecker Pulse Integration. - Understand project schedules and scope of work. - Understand project requirements, specifications, and equipment functionality. - Contribute to the team and be capable of reacting to change. - Communicate well and often with Project Managers and/or Controls Manager. - Communicate well and often with vendors to negotiate pricing. - Keep standards high and help to constantly improve and enhance the processes defined. - Keep up to date with latest technologies and best practices. - Create electrical controls schematics including wiring diagrams, panel layouts, push-button station layouts, safety circuits, and other hardware related documents. - Visit customer site for purposes of gathering information, project kickoffs or pre-sales reviews. - Provide informed estimations of labor and materials. - Participate in the development and management of department processes, such as CAD library & functionality, operating procedures, software tools and design methods. - Maintain current knowledge of electrical and related safety standards as they relate to control panel design, build, machine safety, and machine wiring. - All other tasks as directed by management. Qualifications - Minimum 3+ years controls estimation experience, 8-10 years preferred. - B.S. Electrical Engineering or Trade School equivalent in PLC/Controls Engineering or Combination of Education and Experience equivalent. - Experience with performance management. - Knowledge of designing/commissioning/troubleshooting controls systems (i.e. Rockwell, Siemens, GE, Square D, etc.). - Knowledge of industrial controls networks (i.e. Ethernet/IP, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.) is a plus. - Proficiency drafting electrical designs using AutoCAD. Requirements - Experience in following and executing multiple tasks, ability to keep track of multiple tasks and complete them all with updates and reports communicated where appropriate. - This position has direct reports and will manage 3rd party suppliers/vendors and employees working to provide development assistance on your assigned projects. - Will guide/direct electrical installers and collaborate with project and program managers. - Regular travel to KPI COEs (up to 25%) required as necessary.
