HR Business Partner / People Operations Lead

Role Description This position will own and coordinate critical People Operations functions across onboarding, employee experience, compliance, HR systems, project coordination, and performance support. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, tech-savvy, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced remote environment with minimal supervision. You will help ensure employees have a seamless experience from onboarding through ongoing support, while also helping leadership stay organized and accountable across multiple HR and culture initiatives. This is not an administrative-only HR role. We are looking for someone who thinks critically, identifies gaps before they become problems, improves processes proactively, and takes ownership of outcomes. Key Responsibilities - Onboarding & Employee Experience - Own the end-to-end onboarding process for new hires - Ensure all hires have signed offers, contracts, and required documentation completed - Manage employee setup across systems including BambooHR and other internal platforms - Coordinate onboarding calls and orientation sessions - Present company culture, expectations, policies, and employee experience initiatives during onboarding - Create structured touchpoints and follow-up plans during employees' first 30, 60, and 90 days - Track onboarding completion and employee readiness metrics - HR Operations & Compliance - Support day-to-day HR operations and employee requests - Manage employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, changes, offboarding, and terminations - Ensure HR documentation and records remain compliant and organized - Coordinate policy acknowledgments, HR communications, and documentation workflows - Support compliance-related initiatives and operational follow-ups - Employee Relations & Performance Support - Serve as a trusted HR partner for employees and managers - Support conflict resolution and employee relations conversations professionally and empathetically - Assist with performance review cycles, performance tracking, and follow-up actions - Help managers maintain accountability around employee development and feedback processes - Support retention and engagement initiatives - Project Management & Operational Support - Help drive execution across People & Culture projects - Follow up with stakeholders to ensure deliverables are completed on time - Maintain project visibility and accountability using tools such as Asana - Support implementation of HR processes, systems, and operational improvements - Assist with internal communication initiatives and cross-functional coordination - Content, Training & Documentation - Support create HR-related content including SOPs, policies, training materials, guides, presentations, and internal documentation - Record onboarding or training videos when needed - Support the creation and rollout of culture initiatives and internal programs - Ensure documentation is scalable, organized, and easy to understand - AI, Systems & Automation - Use AI tools such as Claude AI and ChatGPT to improve workflows, documentation, communication, reporting, and HR operations - Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency - Support HR reporting, dashboards, and data tracking - Work confidently with HR systems and modern digital tools in a remote environment - Events & Employee Perks - Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, virtual events, and company off-sites - Support logistics, communication, budgeting, and execution for company events - Help manage employee perks and culture-related programs Qualifications - 4+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, HRBP, HR Generalist, or People & Culture roles - Excellent spoken and written English (professional-level fluency required) - Experience supporting remote and global teams - Strong experience with onboarding and employee lifecycle management - Experience handling employee relations situations professionally and confidentially - Experience managing HR systems such as BambooHR or similar HRIS platforms - Strong organizational and project management skills - High ownership, accountability, and follow-through - Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills - Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment - Experience using AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT for workflow optimization and operational support - Advanced proficiency with Google Workspace and modern collaboration tools - Availability to support operations between approximately 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM EST, Monday through Friday Preferred - Experience with Asana or similar project management tools - Experience creating HR dashboards, reporting, and metrics tracking - Experience building policies, SOPs, and training documentation - Experience coordinating company events, off-sites, or employee engagement programs - Experience working in startups, high-growth companies, or remote-first environments -
