Role Description The Software QA Tester - Remote debugs software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products. Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software. Ensures quality computer integration into the overall functions of scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing. The Software Development Test Engineer shows a deep experience in automated testing using Playwright with C# and BDD practices with SpecFlow. The Test Engineer will play a key role in ensuring quality across API, Pub/Sub messaging, and UI layers of .NET and React based clinical applications deployed in Azure and Oracle. This position is part of a unified QA automation team embedded within Agile development pods. Your Impact - Leads other related to a Business Domain or Technology Area of Knowledge focused on a key area for example Guide Configurator, Oracle Fusion, Oracle Warehousing, etc. - Mentors others related to Quality Assurance and/or a Business Domain or Technology Area Knowledge. - Ensures testing coverage for a Business Domain or Technology Area Knowledge. - Presents ideas across the Quality Assurance community. - Owns the Quality Assurance metrics for the Business Domain or Technology Area presenting those metrics to the Domain leadership. - Collaborate with IT team members to plan, design, and execute software testing for various applications and development efforts. - Collaborate with the developers and product owners to refine test scenarios and acceptance criteria as part of Shift-Left QA practice. - Identify, document, and report bugs, errors, and other issues within software applications. - Work closely with senior QA software engineers, software developers and business systems analysts to resolve any issues that arise during the testing process. - Participate in the design discussions of systems/applications to ensure quality and functionality. - Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives. - Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans. - Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. - Review product design documentation to ensure that requirements stated are correct, unambiguous, and verifiable. - Collaborate with product development to evaluate system interfaces, operational requirements, acceptance criteria, and performance requirements of overall system. - Participates in the execution of procedures for ensuring the quality of features and releases of software. - Isolates, reproduces, and tracks defects and verifies fixes. - Develops test data and procedures for ensuring the software products meet organizational standards and end-user requirements. - Reports progress on problem resolution to management. - Assists in the assessment and planning of test efforts required for software product development. - Practical working knowledge of multiple software testing methodologies and performance of multiple testing types that include functional (system integration), security vulnerability, performance/load/stress, compliancy/accessibility, regression, and user acceptance testing. - Reports to Head of Quality Assurance. - Gains exposure to the highly complex tasks within the job function. - Seldom directed in several aspects of the project work. - Conducts compatibility tests with vendor-provided programs. - Work with a project team to create test plans, document test design specifications and test cases for various testing types including functional (system integration), security vulnerability, performance/load/stress, compliancy/accessibility, regression, and user acceptance testing. - Prepare and follow automated and manual test schedules for preparation and execution of project testing activities. - Manage and maintain test data to support repeatable and comprehensive testing. - Support CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps. - Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives. - Facilitate preparation of test environments. - Solicit feedback from project team members regarding the quality of testing artifacts. - Report automation and manual testing issues and risks along with mitigation options to Quality Assurance Manager. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university. - Minimum 8 years’ experience in a large scales systems project to include 4 years Superior-level automation test script experience with any commercial or open-source testing tools (Playwright (Selenium Webdriver), Cucumber, Specflow, NUnit, Jmeter). - Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, Automation, and processes. - Understanding of Agile/Scrum development process. - Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Strong communication and collaboration skills. - SQL knowledge for data validation. - Experience with test management tools, such as Jira and Azure DevOps. - Increasing knowledge of Automated Unit, Functional, Regression, Performance, Data Migration/ Quality, System Integration, and User Acceptance Testing. - Increasing knowledge of API, UI, Pub/Sub messaging, functional application area, Data integration, and Data Quality Testing. - Increasing knowledge of Azure DevOps Server, C#, Playwright, SpecFlow, .NET Framework, React, Kubernetes, and Docker. - Increasing knowledge of Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Azure Fabric. - Increasing knowledge with test management tools such as Jira and Zephyr. - Increasing knowledge of containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes) and Azure Administration. Requirements - Is a developer at heart — someone who enjoys writing clean, maintainable Test automation using languages like C# code and is passionate about applying strong development skills to build quality into internal healthcare products from the ground up. - Architects Quality Assurance Strategies and Frameworks. - Automation experience with commercial or open-source suite of testing tools (Playwright (Selenium Webdriver), Cucumber, Specflow, NUnit, Jmeter). - Architects testing strategies and frameworks. - Lead testing efforts for a Business Domain or Technology Area Knowledge. - Experience working across multiple on premises or cloud hardware and software platforms. - Open-source test tool knowledge (ANT, Ruby, WATIR, Playwright(Selenium), Jmeter, etc.). - Visual Studio testing tools (C#, Coded UI), NUnit and Jira knowledge. - Thick client MS windows application automation knowledge is a plus. - Knowledge of Agile software development practices (experience working in an agile environment). - Intermediate understanding of test automation architecture and implementation. - Solid understanding of testing components and deliverables within the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC). - Must have excellent oral and written communication skills; exceptional analytic and problem-solving skills; be able to perform in a fast-paced, progressive and challenging team environment. - Demonstrated ability to set and meet tight deadlines and function well under pressure. - Demonstrated ability to develop effective and enduring working relationships with stakeholders, project managers, and other project participants and application owners. - Excellent communication, organization and documentation skills. - Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. - Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships. - Keep the patient at the center of everything that you do, building lifelong trust. - Foster open collaboration and constructive dialogue with everyone around you. - Continuously innovate new solutions, influencing and responding to change. - Focus on superior outcomes, and calibrate work processes for outstanding results.
