Assistant General Counsel

• Provide strategic legal support across commercial contracting, procurement, quality, operations, transactional and general corporate matters • Serve as lead legal advisor to the Microbial Control Solutions business in North America • Support the US HR function, including employment counseling, internal investigations and employment law matters • Manage complex legal matters independently while partnering closely with the General Counsel and senior stakeholders • Handle commercial disputes and support litigation, including managing outside counsel and related budgets • Identify legal and compliance risks and lead the development and implementation of mitigation strategies • Collaborate cross-functionally to enable business objectives and continuously improve legal processes
Job Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree and license to practice law in a relevant jurisdiction
- Min. 10+ years of combined experience in a major law firm and in-house legal department (prior in-house experience required)
- Strong background in commercial transactions and corporate legal matters; experience in chemical, life sciences or manufacturing industries is an advantage
- Excellent business acumen with the ability to deliver clear, pragmatic and solutions-focused legal advice
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills
