Role Description This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy in the CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group) ARTL 3P01: Media Transformations in the Creative Arts – D2. The trajectory and influences of new media on the development of and discourses in 20th and 21st Century and contemporary creative production including the arts, broadcast, film, video, and electronic arenas such as the internet, games, and interactive media. - Overview of fundamental concepts, practices, and language. - Consideration of aesthetics, production, script and story, direction, authorship, collaborative process, and distribution. Course Format: - Lectures, seminar, 3 hours per week, ASY Fully online, asynchronous. Compensation: - Effective September 1, 2026 - $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally). - Effective September 1, 2026 - $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Please note: Instructors who are employed in a 2-hour/week lecture, or the equivalent of a 2-hour/week lecture, are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course. Duties and responsibilities will be in accordance with Article 22.01 of the Collective Agreement. These include scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom time (preparation of lectures, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration, including grade appeals and cases of academic dishonesty). Qualifications - Relevant MA, MFA or PhD. - Previous teaching experience at the university level in the same subject field is required, preferably STAC/ARTL 3P01. - Must possess an understanding of the interdisciplinary connections between the arts. - Demonstrated teaching competence through previous course evaluations and 3 letters of reference. - Appropriate professional affiliations. - Demonstrated experience in experiential learning and online teaching.
