Role Description As a Senior Palantir Engineer (Senior Associate) at Kainos, you will be responsible for designing and developing data processing and data persistence software components for solutions which handle data at scale. Working in agile teams, Senior Data Engineers provide strong development leadership and take responsibility for significant technical components of data systems. You will work within a multi-skilled agile team to design and develop large scale data processing software to meet user needs in demanding production environments. Your responsibilities will include: - Working to develop data processing software primarily for deployment in Big Data technologies. The role encompasses the full software lifecycle including design, code, test and defect resolution. - Working with Architects and Lead Engineers to ensure the software supports non-functional needs. - Collaborating with colleagues to resolve implementation challenges and ensure code quality and maintainability remains high. Leads by example in code quality. - Working with operations teams to ensure operational readiness. - Advising customers and managers on the estimated effort and technical implications of user stories and user journeys. - Coaching and mentoring team members. Qualifications - Strong software development experience in one of Java, Scala, or Python. - Software development experience with data-processing platforms from vendors such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Databricks. - Experience of developing substantial components for large-scale data processing solutions and deploying into a production environment. - Proficient in SQL and SQL extensions for analytical queries. - Solid understanding of ETL/ELT data processing pipelines and design patterns. - Aware of key features and pitfalls of distributed data processing frameworks, data stores and data serialization formats. - Able to write quality, testable code and has experience of automated testing. - Experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment techniques. Requirements - Experience of performance tuning. - Experience of data visualization and complex data transformations. - Experience with streaming and event-processing architectures including technologies such as Kafka and change-data-capture (CDC) products. - Expertise in continuous improvement and sharing input on data best practice. In this role, you’ll focus on bridging the gap between sleek storefronts and complex back-office data. While your core strength will be traditional full-stack development, you will also have the unique opportunity to work alongside our Experienced Staff Engineer to master AI-augmented development and agent orchestration. - Storefront Excellence: Develop and customize high-converting StoreConnect storefronts using Liquid, JavaScript, and modern frontend tools. - Data Architecture: Manage Salesforce/StoreConnect data models to support complex retail operations. - System Integration: Build custom "glue" services and integrate third-party APIs to ensure a seamless flow between CRM and Commerce. - Evolving Workflow: Incorporate AI tools (like Cursor or Claude Code) into your daily routine to handle boilerplate, refactor CSS/JS, and accelerate unit testing. Qualifications - 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack development. - Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript; experience with React or Next.js is a plus. - Experience with (or a strong desire to master) Salesforce data modeling. - Basic English is required for collaboration with our Australian team via chat. • Assemble technical data packages and determine export control jurisdiction and classification of technical data and related commodities and software as required • Assist in analysis and interpretation of requirements for “technical data or not” determinations • Ability to process all required export or import documentation for international shipments and review these shipments for any potential export or import classification issues • Responsible for daily classification of commodities using the HTS and Census Schedule B Export Codes • Maintain and update product master database with applicable HTS classifications or export classification determinations • Maintain proficiency with US and International Export and Import Regulations • Understand classification On-Time Delivery (OTD) metrics and turn backs • Review of red flags or watch list screening “hits” for escalation in accordance with the Global Trade Guidance, Standard Work and Standard Procedures • Assist with and participate in internal compliance audits and investigations related to export controls
• Provide remote and occasional on-site Level 2 technical support to ADNET clients based on established procedures through various support mediums (telephone, email, ticketing system, and remote control) • Actively manage assigned tickets, projects, and follow-ups to ensure timely resolution • Escalate issues outside of your skill set promptly to ensure clients receive timely resolutions • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client documentation as changes occur or as part of project work
