This is a full-time, paid internship. Responsibilities: Assess AI backlog and develop architecture, solutions, and solution estimates Build AI agents and integrate into workflows based on highest value The D1 Intern will partner with VP Operations, Directors of Operations, Data Science, ML Engineers, and Directors for Support, Services, and Customer Success here and will gain hands-on industry experience in the Engineering field. The Mission We are seeking a Principal Transformation Architect to join our Named Customer Portfolio. About The Role MacPractice is looking for an Agent Builder, someone who can design, build, and ship AI agent systems that either transform how our portfolio companies operate or become standalone products their customers pay for. This is not a research role. You will be embedded directly within MacPractice, working alongside its teams to understand day-to-day operations and build AI agents that handle real work: customer support, sales outreach, onboarding, internal documentation, workflow automation, and more. Some of what you build will replace manual processes inside MacPractice. Some of it will evolve into new, revenue-generating capabilities delivered to MacPractice’s customer base. Either way, your work will ship to real users and have immediate, measurable impact. What You'll Do Build Internal AI Agent Teams - Design and deploy AI agents that handle operational work across MacPractice, including customer support tiers 1 and 2, SDR and sales outreach, onboarding automation, content and marketing workflows, and engineering maintenance. - Measure impact in hours of labor replaced or team output increased. - Work directly with portfolio company operators to identify the highest value automation opportunities. Build External AI Products - Develop new AI powered products such as vertical voice agents, AI copilots, workflow automation tools, and AI documentation systems tailored to the industries our portfolio companies serve. - Own the product from prototype through launch, including reaching first paying customers. - Use existing portfolio company distribution across more than 30 companies to validate and scale quickly. Ship and Iterate - Move fast from idea to MVP to production - Run beta tests with real users, gather feedback, and improve continuously - Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams
• Serve as the primary relationship lead for a major enterprise technology partner within the speech and AI domain. • Engage directly with client stakeholders across Product, Engineering, ML, Data Science, and Speech teams. • Translate complex technical requirements into clear internal delivery plans and execution roadmaps. • Ensure alignment between client expectations and operational capabilities across data, engineering, and production teams. • Demonstrate domain fluency across TTS, ASR, transcription workflows, data collection, annotation, and model training support. • Contribute technical insight during solution design discussions, including conversations around model accuracy, constraints, scaling, and evaluation methodologies. • Protect and stabilize existing revenue streams while supporting responsible expansion aligned with the client’s technical roadmap. • Participate in RFP/RFI responses and commercial discussions with awareness of scope, margin, and delivery risk. • Partner closely with delivery, data operations, engineering, and product teams to ensure seamless transition from scoping to execution. • Identify risks early, escalate appropriately, and maintain transparency across stakeholders. • Build long-term trust through responsiveness, clarity, and professionalism in complex enterprise environments.
