Accountant/Bookkeeper

Role Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing tax returns, handling payroll returns, and performing bookkeeping tasks using QuickBooks. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently to ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial transactions. - Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks. - Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. - Manage payroll processing and prepare payroll returns accurately and timely. - Perform general bookkeeping tasks, including recording financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and generating financial reports. - Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. - Monitor and analyze financial data to identify discrepancies and resolve any issues. - Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. - Stay updated with changes in tax laws and accounting regulations. - Provide support during audits and liaise with external auditors as needed. - Ensure the confidentiality and security of financial information. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. - Proven experience as an Accountant with a strong focus on QuickBooks, tax returns, payroll returns, and bookkeeping. - Proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software. - Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax regulations, and payroll processes. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. - Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping. - Strong organizational and time management skills. - Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Professional certification (e.g., CPA) is a plus.
