Title: Communications Specialist Location: Boise United States Job Description: Employment Type: Part time Shift: Day Shift Description: COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST BOISE, IDAHO PART-TIME SUMMARY: Working with the Manager of Communications, the Communications Specialist will be responsible for helping draft and execute internal and external communications to advance the reputation of Saint Alphonsus as an employer of choice and trusted healthcare provider. Supports the development of strategic internal and/or external initiatives with related communication delivery (e.g. speeches, presentations, publications, memo announcements, etc.). Works closely with other members of the Marketing and Communications team. REQUIREMENTS: - A bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications or related field required. - At least five years of related experience in internal communications, public relations, or marketing/communications required. - Familiarity with a health care setting preferred. WHAT YOU WILL DO: - Strong interpersonal and written communications skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders - Ability to juggle multiple projects and prioritize initiatives. Flexibility and the ability to concentrate to deliver quality products in an organization that moves quickly. - Comfort with executing projects in marketing automation platforms, and the use of project management tools like Trello - An eye for proactively identifying compelling content, both internally and externally, and across traditional outlets and social media. - Ability to independently execute within deadlines. - Thrives working within an energetic and high-performing team. - Developed sense of judgment and discretion to determine the appropriate extent of information shared with media in specific instances and to determine which circumstances warrant direct media contact with executive management. - Writes and/or edits content for multiple communication channels serving colleagues and management teams, including but not limited to organization newsletters, press releases, Intranet, town halls, colleague emails, presentations, talking points, printed materials, etc., as assigned by the Manager of Communications. Scope of work includes developing content from key stakeholders, writing and copyediting, and helping publish content across internal communications channels. - Supports the effectiveness and consistency of communications supporting the mission and organizational goals. Develops internal communications and campaigns; implements plans and helps evaluate results. - Leveraging communications and engagement data, partner with the Communications Manager to strategize and plan effective and appropriate colleague communications and announcements. - As a member of the broader Marketing and Communications team, supports the team's social media strategy by contributing content for the organization's social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram). - As assigned, works with leaders on initiatives, projects and team communications, including developing talking points for internal and external purposes. - Provides internal/external communications counsel as appropriate for projects, programs, campaigns and events. May be assigned to write speeches and/or other executive communications. - As a member of the communications team, takes periodic responsibility of the team's after-hours media call responsibilities. - As needed, supports the development, production and distribution of collateral materials. - Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, physicians, employees and visitors of Trinity Health Michigan and its entities in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Discuss patient and hospital/health system information only among appropriate staff in confidential settings - Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Trinity Health Michigan. - Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws and regulations, Corporate Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior. - May support marketing and communications staff with the planning and implementation of system-wide projects, programs and campaigns. Provides marketing, planning and internal/employee communications staff with a strategic communications perspective in general and on projects, programs, campaigns and events. Works with marketing staff with editing and copywriting as needed. Marketing staff to support communications likewise.
