Senior Accountant

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for payroll and benefits-related accounts • Partner closely with Payroll and HR to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of payroll data • Review payroll reports against the GL and investigate discrepancies or unusual fluctuations using data-driven and AI-assisted approaches • Prepare and review benefits reconciliations, identifying and resolving variances across across multiple systems • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes related to payroll and benefits • Perform detailed flux and variance analysis on payroll and compensation-related expenses, leveraging AI tools and advanced analytics to identify trends, anomalies, and insights • Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within payroll accounting, including the use of AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance accuracy • Maintain and strengthen internal controls over payroll and benefits-related processes • Support the broader accounting team by taking on responsibilities such as prepaids and fixed assets as needed to balance workloads.

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in compensation accounting or a similar role, ideally in a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA a plus.
  • You have a strong understanding of US GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls
  • You’re highly proficient in Excel and comfortable working with large datasets; experience with AI-enabled tools is a plus
  • You have hands-on experience with ERP systems; NetSuite and payroll platforms such as ADP preferred.
  • Experience managing complex benefit reconciliations, including 401K and HSA accounts via platforms like Fidelity and Navia.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with a track record of identifying discrepancies and implementing process improvements.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining proper audit-ready support for all entries.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight month-end deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to partner cross-functionally with HR, Benefits, and Payroll teams.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
  • Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
