The Fleet/Field Manager will be responsible for leading a team of technicians within our fleet service programs, overall client support and associated maintenance processes that include maintenance, repair and quality assurance. What the Fleet/Field Manager role looks like: - Manages technician hiring, training, coaching, performance management, discipline, and overtime authorization - Maintains an ongoing preventive/corrective maintenance program which sets the standard for service excellence - Reviews status reports including road calls, breakdowns, parts inventory, repairs, and safety performance - Provides hands-on maintenance assistance as needed. - Assures all maintenance-related data is available for input in the vehicle maintenance system - Responsible for establishing maintenance related training sessions that improve overall fleet condition and operational knowledge of drivers, mechanics, and shop personnel - Ensuring efficient utilization, vehicle maintenance quality, and transportation to ready-lines. - Fleet inventory/condition reporting, including out of service listing, matched to asset list - Responsible for implementation/monitoring of all fleet maintenance activities (e.g. Pre/Post pre-trip, safety lane, warranty recovery, tire standards, oil/lubricants, major component failure, and all new initiatives). - Evaluate equipment performance and recommend modifications and/or alternate vendors based on maintenance/costing information. - Analyze service issues related to fleet maintenance and performs root cause analysis, recommends remediation methodologies and escalates as needed to address issues. - Assists in purchase of parts - Supports efforts to create useful metrics and performance (on-line/off-line) diagnostic reporting tools (e.g. machinery dynamics) to support fleet quality trending and fleet maintenance performance. What our ideal candidate looks like: - 5-7 years’ experience leading Fleet Maintenance teams - 7+ years’ experience of fleet maintenance and repair as a heavy-duty technician - Experienced with creating standardized operating procedures and streamlining processes - Must excel at managing and influencing the operational and administrative processes inherent in a high growth environment - Demonstrated ability to build and continuously motivate highly effective teams - Specialized understanding of maintenance procedures and general knowledge of industry regulations (e.g. EPA, DOT, OSHA) to ensure compliance - Solid project management, resource planning, oral and written communication skills. - Strong analytical skills with expertise in researching, interpreting, data management, and report generation. - High degree of autonomy, yet team oriented with ability to work cross-functionally within the Kooner FMS organization. - Proficiency with computers, including Google Docs and Fleet System software. - High School diploma required Work Environment: - Combination of office and field settings - Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs - Must be able to sit for up to 4 hours at a time Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
