Job Description

Senior Revenue Accountant

ŌURA

• Own and support key aspects of the retail order-to-cash cycle, including order management, billing, payment application, receivables support, reconciliations, reporting, and revenue recognition. • Record and analyze accruals, reserves, deferred revenue, AR-related entries, and other retail-related journal entries in accordance with contracts, business activity, and accounting guidance. • Prepare and own monthly close activities, including balance sheet reconciliations, account flux analysis, and resolution of unusual balances or discrepancies. • Review retail and partnership contracts and assess revenue recognition implications under ASC 606. • Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, IT/Business Systems, Legal, Sales, Retail Sales, and Logistics to support business processes and resolve operational accounting issues. • Support onboarding of new retail and distribution partners by helping establish scalable accounting processes, reviewing transaction flows, and validating ERP setup. • Maintain and improve process documentation, including documentation that supports internal controls, audit readiness, and scalable execution. • Identify process gaps, investigate root causes, and drive improvements that increase accuracy, efficiency, and scale. • Monitor financial and operational KPIs related to retail accounting and provide insights to support decision-making. • Serve as a thoughtful, hands-on problem solver who can balance operational support with sound accounting judgment in a fast-moving environment.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience in a senior accountant or similar role; a mix of public accounting and industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including significant experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Experience reviewing complex contracts and independently forming technical accounting conclusions.
  • Experience with retail accounting, including retailer reconciliations, deductions/credits, or large retail partner environments
  • Systems and tools experience; NetSuite and FloQast are a plus.
  • A highly independent work style, strong analytical skills, and a proactive, questioning mindset.
