Aerospace Program Manager

Role Description As an Aerospace Program Manager and AS9100 / ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, you will serve as a technical authority and certification decision-maker within the Aerospace sector, overseeing auditing and management of certification and assessment services across OEM and supply chain organizations. Your responsibilities will include: - Acting as a subject matter expert for aerospace certification programs within the organization. - Serving as Certification Decision Authority for AS9100 / ISO 9001 programs, reviewing audit documentation and making final certification decisions. - Overseeing the delivery and management of certification and assessment services in the Aerospace market. - Identifying qualification needs and planning training programs for auditors and administrative staff. - Leading the monitoring of full-time and freelance auditors. - Providing technical leadership and guidance to auditors on complex certification matters. - Contributing to the appointment and authorization of external auditors. - Maintaining and extending accreditations and recognitions in relevant market segments. - Developing market-specific presentations and supporting acquisition of new clients. - Working closely with the VP of Sales to support business development activities. - Performing production/operations monitoring and supporting implementation of DEKRA Certification rules. - Implementing accreditation requirements and reviewing audit records. - Creating, adapting, and updating sector-specific processes and procedures. - Conducting audits (2nd and 3rd party) as required. - Developing audit scope and plans, managing audit team activities, and preparing audit reports. - Using polished presentation skills while meeting with clients to present findings. - Operating with a high degree of autonomy and managing priorities effectively. Qualifications - Extensive experience in AS9100 / ISO 9001 certification and third-party auditing environments. - Demonstrated experience in certification decision-making and technical review. - Leadership experience in auditor development and team coordination. - Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Minimum of 4 years experience in quality systems management preferred. - Minimum of 2 years QM experience. Requirements - Must be able to work in a variety of client locations, environments, and conditions. - Must be able to accommodate working various shifts as client activities are scheduled. - Must be able to withstand extensive travel; including long periods of driving. - Ability to perform work in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to lift 25-50lbs (e.g. luggage). - Ability to work in a general office environment. - Ability to handle extended periods of computer-based work. - Ability to work flexible and long hours, as needed. Operations Management - Partner with the Chief Operating Officer in the continual evaluation of operational processes to identify areas of improvement. - Develop and implement project management tools and processes related to sub-awardee management, budget planning and management, and program management. - Collaborate with internal stakeholders to implement and lead operational improvement initiatives. - Liaise with HR, Finance, Grants and Contracts, Procurement, and other departments to identify and resolve policy clarity and interpretations and/or recurring issues affecting program success - Design, develop, and roll-out project start-up and closeout guidelines. Surge Support - Provide on-demand “surge” support to projects and country teams to support program implementation and success both in-country and remotely including: - Lead start-ups and closeouts and ensure that standards established in the Program Management Manual are followed. - Support program implementation through work planning, strategic planning, knowledge management capture, or other technical support. - Assist with financial analysis and budget realignment to ensure accurate financial management. - Provide capacity-building support and other training to project staff and broader team members. - Step in, as needed, to temporarily fill vacancies for key positions within the program teams.
