Title: Sr. AS400 Functional Analyst Location: OH-Cincinnati Job Description: The Role As part of our ERP Operations team, you will ensure the reliability and evolution of our mission-critical AS400 applications. We operate a distributed manufacturing environment where the AS400 remains a cornerstone of our production and supply chain. You will be responsible for functional support, incident resolution, and the seamless integration of these legacy systems into our broader enterprise landscape. Key Responsibilities - Functional Support: Provide high-level support for IBM i applications across multiple sites, ensuring continuity for manufacturing and ERP processes. - System Integration: Manage and troubleshoot integrations between AS400 and external platforms, including EDI, labeling systems, and Windows-based applications. - Business Analysis: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into precise functional and technical specifications. - Problem Solving: Lead root cause analysis for complex incidents and drive sustainable resolutions to prevent recurrence. - Lifecycle Management: Participate in system upgrades, patch management, and application performance optimization. - Documentation & Training: Maintain detailed documentation of processes and solutions, while leading user training for system enhancements and new features. Required Qualifications - AS400 Expertise: 7+ years of experience supporting and maintaining applications on IBM i / AS400. - Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of manufacturing business processes (Production, Inventory, Supply Chain). - Data Mastery: Strong proficiency with SQL and database management specifically on IBM i. - Architecture: Solid grasp of AS400 architecture, security protocols, and system operations. - Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with both shop-floor operators and IT leadership in a cross-functional environment. Technical Skills & Assets - Integrations: Hands-on experience with EDI processes and automated labeling systems. - Development Knowledge: Proficiency in RPG (RPGLE, SQLRPGLE) and CL is a significant asset. - ERP Familiarity: Experience with ERPs such as Data3, PRMS, or PRISM is highly preferred. - Technical Tools: Ability to troubleshoot and optimize within a multi-site, high-availability environment.
