Title: Database Analyst (DBA) Location: Remote US Job Description: The Role We are a fast-growing flexible packaging manufacturer looking for a senior-level DBA to manage a large, distributed SQL Server environment. You will be responsible for the health, security, and performance of databases supporting 60+ manufacturing sites. This is a high-impact role involving everything from legacy SQL Server 2005 instances to modern Azure-based hybrid deployments. Key Responsibilities - Performance & Tuning: Own the performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing strategies for critical ERP and shop-floor systems. - Infrastructure Management: Administer and monitor MS SQL Server environments across a distributed 60-site network. - High Availability: Design and maintain Always On, clustering, and replication to ensure zero downtime for manufacturing operations. - Hybrid Cloud: Manage the transition and support of Azure SQL Databases, Managed Instances, and Microsoft Fabric. - Security & Recovery: Implement robust backup/disaster recovery strategies and maintain strict data integrity and compliance. - Dev Collaboration: Partner with developers to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and optimize T-SQL code. - Full Stack Support: Manage SSIS, SSRS, and SSAS components. Required Qualifications - Experience: 3–7+ years of MS SQL Server administration in an enterprise environment. - Scale: Proven experience supporting multi-site, distributed database environments. - Cloud: Hands-on experience with Azure SQL and hybrid architectures. - Tech Stack: Expert-level T-SQL, execution plan analysis, and HA/DR technologies (Always On). - Legacy to Modern: Ability to manage the full spectrum of SQL Server versions (2005 to present). - Bonus: Oracle database experience or MS SQL certifications are a plus.
