Project Accountant

Role Description Join BCD Meetings & Events as a Project Accountant, where you will support financial management of client meetings and events from project setup through to final billing and reconciliation. In this role, you will work closely with Meeting Managers, Operations teams, and Finance colleagues to ensure project costs are accurately recorded, client invoices are prepared correctly, and financial reporting reflects project performance. You will play an important role in supporting timely billing, maintaining financial accuracy, and ensuring compliance with company procedures and client requirements. - Manage client billing and project financial activities across the full project lifecycle - Ensure accuracy of project costs, revenues, and financial data throughout event delivery - Work closely with Meeting Managers and operational teams to support project financial performance - Analyze financial information and identify discrepancies or variances - Support timely project billing, reconciliation, and financial close activities following event completion - Maintain accurate and organized financial documentation in line with audit and compliance requirements - Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Account Receivable, and General Ledger teams to resolve financial queries - Follow company procedures and financial guidelines in day-to-day activities Qualifications - Experience in Accounting, Finance, or Project Finance environment - Understanding of billing and reconciliation processes - Experience working with financial or ERP systems (SAP experience preferred) - Good working knowledge of Excel - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment - Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken Benefits - Flexible working hours and work-from-home or remote opportunities - Opportunities to grow your skillset and career - Generous vacation days so you can rest and recharge - A compensation package that feels fair to you, including mental, physical, and financial wellbeing tools - Travel industry professional perks and discounts - An inclusive work environment where diversity is celebrated

• Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare journal entries and document business transactions. • Prepares monthly and quarterly operational performance reports. • Assists the Area Controller in ensuring there are proper internal controls in place including compliance with company policies and procedures, Sarbanes Oxley and all other statutory requirements. • Reconciles balance sheet accounts and statistical data and fully analyses financial statements in accordance with the Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP) and Company policy. • May assist the Area Controller in the management of accounting personnel. • May provide direction to the different accounting functional areas (invoice processing, billing, cash receipts, work order processing, credit analysis, receivable collections, month-end close, journal entries, statistical data, and payroll). • Supports the Area Controller during the annual budget and interim forecasting process and assists with analytical review. • Supports the accounting aspects of capital expenditures, transfers and retirements. • Assists with periodic financial audits including internal audits, external audits and peer reviews. • Provides support and responds to information requests from corporate (accounting, tax, treasury, IT, HR, sales, environmental compliance, legal, etc.) as well as region and area field financial management as required.

• Perform daily cash postings across multiple bank accounts and entities. • Monitor cash balances and identify discrepancies, unusual transactions, or timing issues. • Support Treasury with daily cash position reporting and liquidity insights. • Perform high-volume daily and monthly bank reconciliations across 40+ accounts. • Investigate and resolve discrepancies and variances within the bank accounts including outstanding items and bank adjustments. • Own cash-related journal entries, including bank fees, interest, credit card activity, and cash adjustments. • Assist with variance analysis and provide explanations for cash movement and timing differences. • Ensure all cash transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and internal policies. • Manage large datasets of transactions across multiple systems (ERP, billing platforms, payment processors). • Ensure completeness and integrity of cash postings in a high-throughput environment. • Monitor and maintain cash clearing accounts. • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy of cash processes. • Support implementation of tools and workflows to handle increasing transaction volumes. • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all cash activities. • Assist with internal and external audits. • Partner with Treasury, A/R and A/P to resolve receipt and disbursement discrepancies. • Work closely with Revenue Accounting on proper allocation and classification. • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners (banks, payment providers).
