Role Description The Sales Manager Energy Storage Solutions is responsible for driving localized business development and market expansion for battery energy storage solutions in the relevant region. The role owns the full sales cycle from lead generation through contract negotiation, signature, and payment collection, while building long-term customer relationships and a regional sales network. This position is an individual contributor role with strong commercial ownership, a hands-on execution focus, and close coordination with internal and regional teams. Major Responsibilities - Drive localized market development and business expansion for ESS solutions in South-East Europe. - Develop new customers and manage assigned sales opportunities and customer relationships within the defined market. - Own the full sales cycle from opportunity identification through negotiation, contract signature, delivery coordination, and payment collection, ensuring timely conversion of opportunities into firm orders in line with company policies. - Identify upsell opportunities such as system expansion, EMS upgrades, and additional services. - Develop and execute sales plans aligned with regional targets and pipeline requirements. - Manage customer portfolios, including pipeline tracking, sales forecasting, and risk monitoring. - Monitor market developments, policies, and subsidy schemes related to utility energy storage in the Balkan region and provide structured insights to support regional sales planning. - Coordinate with HQ and overseas teams on product promotion, technical alignment, and strategic initiatives. - Represent the company at customer meetings and industry events while protecting corporate interests and strengthening the company’s market reputation in the assigned market. - Collaborate closely with PV Sales teams to maintain customer relationships, expand sales channels, and enable cross-selling of integrated PV + ESS solutions. Performance Indicators - Revenue and margin achievement vs. target. - Pipeline coverage, quality, and conversion rate. - Forecast accuracy and reporting discipline. - Number and value of contracts signed. - Customer / account growth and retention. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, International Business, Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field. - Minimum 3 years of experience in BESS, PV, or related energy solutions sales or project development. - Experience working with EPCs, developers, or project stakeholders in C&I or utility-scale energy projects is strongly preferred. - Technical knowledge of BESS systems (e.g., battery storage, PCS, EMS) and project structures is an advantage. - Exposure to energy storage project structuring or hybrid PV + BESS solutions is a plus. - Fluent in English and local language (C1 level). Skills & Competencies - Strong commercial and negotiation skills with hands-on deal-closing capability. - Ability to independently manage opportunities from lead generation to payment collection. - High level of execution focus; comfortable working in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments. - Strong stakeholder management skills, including access to senior decision-makers and C-level contacts. - Ability to quickly understand and adapt to regulatory, subsidy, and grid-code changes in the region. - Resilience and flexibility to operate under high travel intensity and multicultural settings.
