Saint-Gobain Performance Ceramics and Refractories (PCR) is seeking an Application Engineer to manage sales of PCR solutions across the Ceramic Systems and Specialty Ceramics SBUs/Markets. This role promotes PCR solutions to customers, prepares quotations and proposals, manages projects, supports installations and trials, partners with production plants, and delivers forecasted sales, profit, and asset objectives for assigned products and markets. Success requires strong technical capability, customer-facing influence, and a continuous-improvement mindset in a highly competitive, innovation-driven environment. Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities - Achieve sales, contribution, and asset objectives by visiting customers and delivering product/technical solutions through quotations and proposals. - Provide technical and marketing sales expertise to internal teams (manufacturing, engineering, and cross-functional partners) to support and secure orders; use design and analysis software to support sales activities. - Serve as the technical resource for product selection, installation methods, and operational recommendations; present proposals to improve customer operations and win new business. - Identify new opportunities and lead product development initiatives to grow sales and expand the customer base; serve as new product champion and help lead cross-functional development teams. - Resolve quality and service complaints, including preparing and issuing reports. - Provide on-site supervision of installation/application of assigned products at customer facilities to ensure work is completed to required instructions; supervise distributor activities and coordinate subcontracted installers/products as needed. - Provide sales forecast data, determine requirements, and champion development of technical promotional literature; gather competitive intelligence to strengthen market position. - Assist in developing pricing and pricing strategies, including implementation of price increases. - Perform other related duties as assigned. IS THIS JOB FOR YOU? Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Ceramics, Mechanical Engineering or related field is required. Master's degree or MBA preferred. - A minimum of 1-3 years of technical sales experience is required, experience with ceramic products is preferred. - Must be sales and service oriented and possess strong organizational skills, be thorough, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. - The candidate must be able to travel up to 50% of the time and have a valid driver's license for business travel. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 12% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $103,000-TTC to $159,000-TTC. Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
