Role Description Dematic is looking for a Software Engineer to join our growing customer service team. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide remote, second-level customer support along with working on bug fixes and customer requested enhancements or changes. The incumbent will work closely with customers, first-level technicians in the Customer Support area, and software project and technical engineers to resolve customer issues. The incumbent may participate in emergency situations requiring on-site support. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of multiple programming languages, operating systems, databases, and networking. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience. - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - Material Handling background is a plus. - Strong problem-solving skills. - Ability to troubleshoot server hardware, Ethernet networks, and other peripherals such as printers. - Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time. - Ability to participate in an on-call rotation during non-business hours. - Flexible with working hours and working days. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or applicable Engineering discipline. - 2+ yrs of software engineering experience. - Industrial automation industry experience (WMS or WCS) a plus. Requirements - Assisting project and technical engineers in integration of new systems. - Assisting technical and development personnel in application quality testing. - Working on site to install, commission, and test installation of material handling solutions. - Providing specified technical support to customers on-site, when assigned. - Review Sales and Estimating Functional Specifications documentation. - Ability to implement project customizations and configurations per design. - Conduct quality testing and integration of updated systems. - Perform installs, commission, and test application software as part of an integrated solution. - Conduct training for customers and key users. - Continually work to identify improvements. - Understanding of software design principles and best practices. - Practical experience with C and SQL programming. - Practical programming experience in Java and related tools. - Experience in Oracle and MS SQL databases. - Experience delivering software systems in real-time environments. - Proficiency in other programming languages a plus. - General knowledge of database design and programming experience. - Knowledge and understanding of Linux operating systems. - General knowledge of Web Services (SOAP, REST), Socket Programming. - Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and TestRail. - Experience with version control systems (GIT and/or Mercurial). The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $65,000 - $140,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.
