Title: Coordinator, Drug Testing, Health & Safety Programs - Latin America Location: Dominican Republic Category: Legal & Investigations Job Description: Major League Baseball is seeking a Coordinator, Drug Testing, Health & Safety Program to serve as a liaison for Major League Baseball’s drug program and player wellness initiatives across Latin America, and assisting with health, safety, and medical standards for players and academy personnel. The Coordinator will deliver educational programming, manage procedures, and coordinate health and safety resources throughout the region. Responsibilities - Serve as a point of contact for Major League Baseball’s drug program, player health and safety, mental health, and medical issues in Latin America, including but not limited to drug testing, substance use, emergency response procedures, athletic training, strength and conditioning, and nutritional standards. - Support the development and delivery of in-person and virtual educational programming and materials on drug program, player health and safety, mental health, substance use, and medical issues for players, academy staff, trainers, international prospects, and family members in both English and Spanish. - Provide and/or arrange for counseling, education and awareness resources for Minor League and International Amateur players throughout Latin American in response to mental health and substance use related matters or a positive test result for a prohibited substance under an MLB drug testing program. - Work closely with MLB’s Joint Strength and Conditioning Director and Sports Registered Dietician on the implementation of policies, standards, best practices, and education with respect to nutrition, dietary supplements, and sports performance in Latin America. - Perform disciplinary notifications under MLB drug programs for Minor League and International Amateur players located in Latin America. - Assist with the processing of all disciplinary appeals under MLB drug programs in Latin America. - Serve as a point of contact for drug program sample collection personnel and investigations in Latin America. - Work with MLB’s medical consultants on the development, implementation and oversight of minimum medical standards, emergency procedures and player health policies at MLB facilities in Latin America - Assist with coordination of drug testing and educational programming at international prospect showcases in the Dominican Republic and other Latin American countries as needed. - Assist with the planning and coordination of large-scale health and medical meetings in the Dominican Republic for MLB Club and Academy personnel. - Work closely with MLB’s Consultant on Behavioral Health and Addiction in the identification of and collaboration with mental health, substance use and addiction clinicians and other resources in Latin America. - Provide general support and assistance to the Drug, Health and Safety group upon request.
