The Birds, Reptile, and Small Mammal Dept is looking for a Variable Hour Employee Animal Keeper to help with day-to-day husbandry activities and additional essential job duties as listed below. This position will be responsible for the care of birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish, freshwater otters, and other small mammals. As the Variable Hour Animal Keeper you will - Observe animals to identify normal and abnormal behavior, reproductive behavior, eating habits, health problems, injuries, and adjustment to diet changes or response to medication. - Stay up to date on current industry care standards for the designated species, including but not limited to feeding strategies, introduction methods, breeding and rearing practices, social management, training practices and strategies, and engaging enrichment. - As appropriate, utilize the principles of operant conditioning as appropriate to facilitate daily husbandry, behavioral modification, and medical procedures. - Service a variety of animal environments including cleaning and disinfecting habitats, aviaries, pools, and food and water receptacles. - Check conditions of animal environments to assess security and safety for animals. Initiate corrective actions for deficiencies. - Feed animals in a species-specific manner, report on consumption and recommend diet modifications as needed. - Initiate efforts and provide suggestions for breeding focused programs utilizing demonstrable knowledge of species' natural biology and individual animal needs. - Administer medications, as prescribed by veterinarians. Inform veterinarian and supervisor of response to medication or other treatments. - Perform or assist with general husbandry tasks, assist with capture, restraint, or segregation of animals for transfer or medical treatment. This can include manual restraint of birds, reptiles, and small mammals. - Conduct informative and professional talks and tours through area of responsibility. - Keep concise, objective records regarding diet, daily animal health and behavior, births, deaths and transfers. Your role will involve the following key accountabilities: - Support the leadership teams of our group companies in the Americas in achieving their business and communications goals through PR activity in the Americas. - Develop, plan and execute impactful PR strategies for the Americas region, in alignment with the wider global strategies and priorities - Initiate, plan and coordinate PR plans, guidance, and key messages to targeted audiences, revising and enhancing the plans to reflect changing conditions - Liaise with corporate communications colleagues, including PR, globally, as well as colleagues in relevant organizations, to share information and best practice and coordinate activity to achieve maximum positive impact - Create and develop PR content both proactively and reactively by developing a network of contacts within Fujitsu to find stories, identify opportunities and craft compelling press releases - Provide regular reports on PR activity to demonstrate impact and ensure continuous improvement - Build and maintain relationships with journalists acts as the key point of contact for all media enquires in the Americas region. - Provide media training to senior leaders and other colleagues as required and monitor trends, coverage and industry news to identify potential risks and opportunities - When utilizing external PR agencies, manage their support to maximize their value to the business - Ensure that all PR activity is brand compliant and contributes to the protection and enhancement of Fujitsu’s corporate values, reputation, and relationships with key stakeholders Your education, experience and skills: - have experience of managing PR activity, including crisis communication and reputation management - be able to handle sensitive situations and provide honest and candid advice to leaders from a PR perspective - be able to influence and engage at all levels in order to plan and deliver impactful PR activity - be able to translate complex information into clear and engaging PR content that resonates with target audiences - be able to identify stories to drive coverage which supports the delivery of business objectives - demonstrate a good understanding of relevant media and other external communications channels - be educated to a degree level and/or have relevant skills and knowledge - be fluent in English, both verbally and in writing - be used to working with MS Office tools and M365 apps - be culturally aware and understand the nuances of communicating to employees from different backgrounds with direct experience of working in a Japanese business context - A strong interest in Japanese culture and language is a plus Shape your world and achieve together We want the best people on our team, so we welcome and encourage applications from people with a diverse variety of experiences, backgrounds and identities. As we are looking for a remote position, the disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each situation. The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: specific skills, qualifications, experience, and comparison to other employees already in this role. The pay range for this position is estimated at $99,470 to $143,237 USD. Additionally, this role may be eligible for a short-term incentive based on company results and individual performance.
