Job Description

HUB Sales Manager

ABB Ltd.

Title: HUB Sales Manager Location: United States of America Job Description: At ABB, we help industries run leaner and cleaner—and every person here makes that happen. You’ll be empowered to lead, supported to grow, and proud of the impact we create together. Join us and help run what runs the world. This position reports to: Hub Manager Americas, BL High Power Solutions Your role and responsibilities (Mandatory): Role Overview: Develops and executes the Motion High Power Solutions commercial strategy across a multi-country, multi-archetype hub organization. Defines sales targets, pricing frameworks, tender quality standards, and pipeline discipline to achieve sustainable order growth, revenue, and market share across North and South America. Directly manages the Latin America Area Sales Manager and leads commercial capability across dedicated, mixed, and ASM-led country teams. Leads, develops, and coaches the hub commercial organization to achieve sales targets through high performance and a wins-through-others operating model. Purpose: The Hub Sales Manager is the commercial backbone of the Motion High Power Solutions Americas Hub. This role owns the commercial engine that makes the hub work: pricing discipline, tender quality, pipeline visibility, and commercial capability across varying country archetypes. The Hub Sales Manager does not lead by managing people in every country. They lead by building frameworks that country teams want to use, embedding in the most commercially complex situations, and ensuring that every relevant sales pursuit in the Americas meets the hub's standard for quality — regardless of where it sits in the org chart. This role directly manages the Latin America Area Sales Manager (ASM), who carries quota for defined markets. The Hub Sales Manager sets the commercial direction, coaches the ASM on pursuit strategy, and connects all market activity into the broader hub pipeline. The work model for the role is: Remote in the United States for Motion High Power. Your role and responsibilities: - Owns hub commercial strategy and governance: Defines pricing frameworks, tender standards, bid approvals, and monitors market price levels and margin positioning across the Americas. - Drives pipeline health and forecast integrity: Owns Hub pipeline data in Salesforce, anticipates coverage and performance gaps, and takes proactive actions to protect forecasts. - Leads opportunity evaluation and contract support: Identifies new market opportunities, allocates hub resources, supports key contract negotiations, and manages commercial risk and scope. - Builds scalable commercial capability and growth cases: Develops tools, processes, and training; promotes cross-team collaboration; and builds business cases for HC investment and growth. - Builds strategic customer and stakeholder relationships across the Americas, influencing commercial outcomes and growth opportunities in existing and new accounts. - Leads and develops sales capability across LatAm and hub-supported markets: Manages and coaches the LatAm Area Sales Manager, sets priorities, drives pursuit strategy, enforces pipeline discipline, and acts as a mentor and capability resource for country teams. - Establishes clear commercial organization, standards, and collaboration: Ensures the area is properly structured and skilled, sets hub commercial expectations, and drives knowledge sharing and cross-collaboration across hub pillars, countries, and ABB divisions with structural neutrality. Our Team Dynamics Our teams support each other, collaborate, and never stop learning. Everyone brings something unique, and together we push ideas forward to solve real problems. Being part of our team means your work matters - because the progress we make here creates real impact out there. Qualifications for the role: - 12+ years of commercial experience in industrial capital equipment. - Demonstrated experience in medium voltage drives, power conversion, or adjacent industrial automation technologies. - Track record of leading commercial teams or influencing commercial outcomes without direct organizational authority. - Experience operating across Latin American markets; understanding of local commercial culture, decision-making dynamics, and relationship norms. - Strong Salesforce or equivalent CRM discipline - this role sets and enforces pipeline standards for others. - Demonstrated ability to build commercial frameworks and tools that practitioners actually adopt and use. - This role requires 50% travel domestically and internationally across North and South America, and quarterly travel to Europe. Candidates must possess a valid US Passport and US Driver’s License. - Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US. More about us We are global market leader in mission-critical high-power, high-performance motors, drives, generators, power conversion and packaged solutions. Every day, we make a difference for our customers by making their operations profitable, safe, and reliable. What's in it for you We empower you to take the lead, share bold ideas, and shape real outcomes. You’ll grow through hands-on experience, mentorship, and learning that fits your goals. Here, your work doesn’t just matter, it moves things forward. ABB is an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer for protected Veterans and Individuals with Disabilities at ABB.
