About the Role We are looking for a Disaster Recovery (DR) Program Specialist to help strengthen enterprise resilience and disaster recovery capabilities across a large-scale technology environment. In this role, you will take ownership of the Disaster Recovery methodology, helping define standards, governance frameworks, and operational practices that ensure systems and services can recover effectively from disruptive events. You will work closely with engineering teams, operational leaders, and business stakeholders to review DR plans, improve recovery readiness, and ensure alignment with industry frameworks such as ISO 22301. The ideal candidate combines strong technical understanding of distributed systems with expertise in resilience planning, enabling them to evaluate recovery strategies, validate recovery objectives, and help teams design more resilient architectures and operational practices. This position plays a key role in improving organizational preparedness through governance, training, plan reviews, and disaster recovery exercises. Responsibilities: - Own and continuously improve the organization’s Disaster Recovery methodology, including standards, controls, acceptance criteria, and operational playbooks aligned with enterprise resilience governance and ISO 22301 Business Continuity Management frameworks. - Develop and maintain guidance, templates, and documentation to support the creation and improvement of Disaster Recovery Plans across engineering and operational teams. - Design and deliver training and enablement initiatives that improve disaster recovery awareness, knowledge, and operational maturity across teams. - Review Disaster Recovery plans to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with established methodology and organizational resilience standards. - Validate that Recovery Time Objectives (RTO) and Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) derived from - Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Technology Impact Analysis (TIA) are realistically supported by system architecture and operational procedures. - Serve as a technical subject matter expert advising engineering and product teams on resilient architecture patterns and recovery strategies. - Review and validate disaster recovery exercises to ensure proper execution, documentation, and continuous improvement of recovery plans. - Ensure disaster recovery documentation and controls align with evolving regulatory expectations and internal governance standards. - Support resilience readiness and transparency initiatives by utilizing the Business Continuity Management (BCM) module within ServiceNow.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support broader enterprise resilience initiatives and operational readiness efforts. Technical Requirements: - 5–10 years of experience working in enterprise resilience, disaster recovery, or business continuity planning within complex technology environments. - Strong knowledge of disaster recovery frameworks and industry standards, including ISO 22301 and NIST contingency planning guidance. - Ability to analyze and assess technical architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures to validate recovery feasibility. - Understanding of distributed systems, including data replication, backup strategies, networking, identity and access management, and observability practices. - Strong analytical, written, verbal, and presentation skills. - Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering teams and senior stakeholders to drive alignment and execution. - Solid understanding of financial, audit, and information technology governance concepts. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and SharePoint. - Strong organizational and administrative skills, including the ability to manage initiatives, develop project plans, and meet target deadlines. - Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams. Desired Skills: - Professional certifications in business continuity or resilience such as CBCP or MBCI. - Experience supporting enterprise readiness for large-scale disruptive incidents affecting multiple systems or locations. - Experience working with ServiceNow Business Continuity Management (BCM) modules or similar resilience tooling. - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience in technology, risk management, or related fields.
