Preference is for work to be performed in our Corvallis, OR office, but we will consider remote work within the contiguous United States with travel as required for business needs (up to 25%). POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager, Systems Engineering, this position is for a skilled Systems Engineer with expertise in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to support the development, integration, and maintenance of complex nuclear power plant system designs using model-centric best practices. This role will leverage MBSE tools and practices to ensure consistency, traceability, and clarity of system requirements, functions, and architecture. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Apply subject matter expertise to identify where expansion or new application of CM processes should be considered, and recommend methods for implementation. - Plan and lead initiatives in support of implementing product-based configuration management (CM), including but not limited to bills of materials, dataset traceability, and key performance indicator definition. - Work closely with stakeholders across the company to develop and implement tailored and focused CM processes and tools that reduce design risk and complexity. - Develop recommendations for enhancements to change control that emphasize efficient processes and product-based evaluation criteria. - Work with the product lifecycle management software development team to implement process-driven tool improvements in the Aras Innovator PLM platform. - Ensure process requirements from various sources (e.g., NQA-1, ASME, NRC, ISO 9001, etc.) are met and maintained. - Effectively communicate with other technical and non-technical disciplines. - Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES: - Education/Certification: Minimum of a 4-year degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, or similar technical or process related field is required. Configuration management certification, CM2-C or similar, preferred. - Experience: Minimum 10 years of directly-related, full-time professional CM experience is required. Must have demonstrated experience in developing and implementing CM processes, procedures, and infrastructure to full maturity in support of complex, multi-disciplinary design projects. Other required experience includes: - Configuration management (i.e., familiarity with CM2, EIA-649) and product structures - Proficiency with product lifecycle management (PLM) infrastructure and tools (Aras Innovator preferred). - Bills of materials definition - Key performance indicator definition - Strong technical writing, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills - Ability to be proactive and work with minimal direction once tasks are assigned and understood - Ability to manage conflicting demands and priorities - Experience working in a highly-regulated environment (NQA-1, 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, and Part 52 preferred). - Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint - Preferred Experience: - Experience in power generation or nuclear industry product configuration management. - Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.
