Role Description The Database Administrator will be responsible for setting and maintaining scalable database standards within Barry-Wehmiller, along with providing support and administration to the global Barry-Wehmiller enterprise database install base. - Install and maintain the performance of database servers. - Develop processes for optimizing database security. - Set and maintain database standards. - Manage database access. - Install, upgrade, and manage database applications. - Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors. - Recommend and implement emerging database technologies. - Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards. - Develop alerts and thresholds and work to put in mechanisms to react to them. - Create automation for repeating database tasks. - Build database systems of high availability and quality depending on each end user’s specialized role. - Design and implement databases in accordance to end user’s information needs and views. - Determine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standards. - Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrity. - Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required. - Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. - Position allows for telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. Qualifications - Position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or foreign equivalent); and 7 years of relevant experience. - Employer will accept any combination of educational degrees equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Requirements - 7 years of experience managing and administering SQL Server databases, specifically in Azure cloud and on premises environments. - 7 years of experience designing, building, and maintaining high availability and disaster recovery technologies along with data replication technologies. - 7 years of experience identifying and resolving performance issues across the full SQL Server stack, including OS-level analysis in both dedicated and virtualized environments. - 7 years of experience configuring proactive monitoring for SQL databases using built-in tools and third-party solutions, including SolarWinds DPA and IDERA Diagnostics. - 7 years of experience implementing data quality and security best practices to ensure alignment with organizational standards and objectives. - 2 years of experience designing, building, maintaining, and troubleshooting ETL/ELT data pipelines on premise and cloud environments. - 2 years of experience programming and scripting languages including T-SQL, PL SQL, Power Shell, JavaScript, and VB Script. - 2 years of experience with business intelligence tools including SSIS, SSRS, Power BI, and Tableau. - 2 years of experience with relational database management systems including Oracle, PostgreSQL, and MySQL. • The Site Services Manager leads onsite execution for complex, high-value BW Packaging projects, serving as the primary onsite extension of the assigned Project Manager during installation, commissioning, and acceptance. • Owns daily field coordination, execution discipline, and onsite communication to ensure delivery aligns with approved scope, schedule, cost, safety, and customer commitments. • Acts as the central onsite coordinator for BW field service resources, installation contractors, OEM partners, and customer stakeholders. • Maintains a strong customer focus while proactively identifying execution risks, scope exposure, and conditions that could erode schedule, cost, or margin outcomes. • Operates within established project governance and escalation structures, partnering closely with the Project Manager to translate what was sold into disciplined, predictable onsite execution and consistent customer experience. • Enable effective onsite performance by clarifying priorities, sequencing work, removing execution obstacles, and ensuring teams have the information needed to execute safely and efficiently. • Lead all onsite service, installation, and commissioning activity during project execution. • Direct and coordinate BW service technicians, installation supervision, contractors, and OEM partners onsite. • Maintain daily control of onsite priorities, sequencing, and issue resolution. • Conduct daily onsite coordination meetings with BW, contractor, and OEM teams. • Ensure onsite execution aligns with safety expectations, scope commitments, and installation standards. • Participate in SAT execution with a clear understanding of acceptance criteria and contractual commitments. • Operate as the onsite execution lead in direct support of the assigned Project Manager. • Provide daily status, activity, and issue updates with clear articulation of risks, decisions, and recommended actions. • Support final acceptance activities through close coordination with the Project Manager and customer. • Identify execution risks, constraints, and scope exposure early and escalate through defined project channels. • Serve as the primary onsite liaison between the customer and BW execution teams. • Maintain clear, professional, and proactive communication with customer stakeholders throughout installation and commissioning. • Attend and lead onsite customer meetings, reinforcing confidence through transparency and follow-through. • Balance strong customer advocacy with disciplined alignment to contractual and project commitments. • Identify scope changes and execution impacts; document and communicate implications to the Project Manager and customer. • Coordinate warranty communication and action tracking with the Project Manager and Operations teams. • Ensure onsite issues, decisions, and actions are documented clearly and consistently. • Coordinate BW and OEM resource and staffing requirements and schedule changes with Field Service leadership. • Support weekly review of service purchase orders, warranty status, and financial visibility using D365 and related systems. • Apply execution judgment to protect schedule adherence, utilization efficiency, and cost outcomes. • Partner with Project Management, Field Service leadership, Operations, and OEM teams to maintain execution continuity.
• Defines the technical foundation for automation and integration opportunities across BW Packaging. • Translates customer requirements into clear, executable system concepts and layouts that enable accurate estimates, confident proposals, and reliable execution. • Partners cross functionally to shape front-end technical definition. • Drives clarity, feasibility, and alignment to define well-scoped, executable automation and integration solutions. • Create and maintain layout drawings reflecting proposed system configurations and facility constraints. • Develop and validate controls-related estimating inputs, including engineering hours, assembly effort, and material requirements. • Partner with Sales and Business Development to shape opportunities and guide customer technical discussions.
