In this role, you will analyze, advise, and report key performance information in order to implement upgrades to the current ATC system that are critical to safe and efficient air travel. By supporting the implementation and modernization of short-to-medium range radar systems, you will directly contribute to the future of U.S. aviation infrastructure. This position is 100% remote, with 75% travel. - Provide subject matter expertise on radar system integration, operations, and lifecycle sustainment. - Support FAA surveillance programs with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and modernization planning. - Observe, capture, and report technical data pertinent to the installation and modernization of FAA radar systems. - Collaborate with FAA stakeholders, contractors, and engineering teams to align with mission objectives. - Develop and submit concise technical reports and status reports throughout each phase of the project (site survey, pre-install & parts - received at site, installation, and finally, testing and acceptance). - Provide immediate notification to higher Peraton authority of significant concerns (Risk, Issues, Opportunity) along with their potential impacts to the schedule. - Oversee site and vendor technicians, have situational awareness of past and upcoming equipment installation schedules, and ensure compliance with FAA mandates. - Upon completion of installation and acceptance tests, continue to monitor updated systems and communicate with site technicians and vendors to ensure optimization of all ATC systems through calibrations, alignments, and additional testing required. Qualifications - US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. - 5 years with BS/BA, 3 years with MS/MA, 0 years with PhD, 9 years with no degree. - Must have some technical work experience such as maintenance on any moderately complex system such as radars, radios or networks. - Proven strong self-starter traits. - Capable of implementing the steps to conflict resolution and deconfliction. - Capable of independent operation under agile conditions with limited oversight and/or managerial control. - Capable of critical thinking, following processes and procedures. - Travel 75% (expected travel is 1 month on and 1-2 weeks remote rotation on average). - Solid communication and interpersonal skills. - Capable of assessing a large amount of pertinent data and producing detailed technical reports at a consumable level under time limitations. - Provide clear and effective communications to all parties. Your Impact: - Support the FAA update of new systems to National Airspace System (NAS). - Identify and evaluate efficiencies, and support the cross-program planning and integration of onsite implementation activities to mitigate site disruption and use resources effectively. - Provide onsite support during implementation activities at complex critical implementation sites. - Support onboarding, training, staffing, and site prep activities and maintain continuity of deployment to accelerate any IOC milestones in coordination with the program office. - Coordinate TFDM implementation needs/interests across BNATCS Program priorities for ES, FTI, Air Traffic (AT), Technical Operations (TO). - Provide point of escalation for Site Space conflicts across BNATCS programs. - Support the program in measuring post-implementation efficiency benefits such as planning for cross FAA organization reviews and communications. - Assist with the review of the implementation plan and the identification of improvement areas. - Support the development of project documentation, briefings, presentations, and decision support materials as required. - In coordination with FAA, support review of CDRLs. - Support Joint Acceptance Inspections (JAI) and Contractor Acceptance Inspections (CAI). Qualifications - U.S. Citizenship Required. - Must have the ability to obtain / maintain a Public Trust clearance. - Bachelor’s degree and 12 years’ experience or Masters degree and 10 years’ experience or Associate’s degree and 14 years’ experience or HS diploma/equivalent and 16 years’ experience. - Experience creating technical documents such as implementation plans, reports, training. - Hardware and software deployment/installation experience. Requirements - Prior or current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) experience. - Proficiency creating network diagrams and rack elevations using tools such as Visio and Microsoft Office Suite. - Redhat Linux experience. - Strong understanding of power requirements (NEMA plugs, UPS sizing, BTU calculations). - Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards (single-mode, multi-mode, CAT6). Benefits - Target Salary Range: $135,000 - $216,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. - Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. - Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
