Windows Systems Administrator

• Be responsible for managing and optimizing Windows Server environments, ensuring system security, stability, and performance through proactive monitoring, maintenance, and automation • Administering and maintaining Windows Server systems, including patching, updates, upgrades, and performance tuning • Providing after-hours on-call support, responding to and resolving system incidents and alerts promptly and efficiently • Implementing and managing change management processes, ensuring all changes to the infrastructure are properly documented, tested, and executed • Performing security hardening and vulnerability assessments on servers, implementing security best practices, and responding to security incidents • Monitoring system performance, capacity, and availability using various monitoring tools, proactively identifying and resolving issues • Collaborating with other IT teams, including network, database, and application teams, to ensure seamless integration and support • Participating in disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing, ensuring the ability to recover systems in the event of an outage • Automating system administration tasks using scripting languages like Python, Ansible, PowerShell or even Bash, improving efficiency and reducing manual effort • Creating and maintaining documentation, including system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides • Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends in server administration, security, and operations

Job Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience with Server Administration, with a focus on Windows Servers (2012-2022)
  • At least 3 years of experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware vSphere and vCenter, and Red Hat OpenStack
  • At least 3 years of experience with scripting languages and automation tools like Ansible, Python, PowerShell and Bash
  • At least 3 years of recent experience working with legacy tools and systems such as RHEL, Solaris, AIX, and HP-UX
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing
  • Solid knowledge of security principles and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management
  • Willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotation
