Job Description

Growth Strategy & Analytics Manager

Block

It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 50+ million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world’s relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible. Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy. The Role The Growth Strategy & Analytics team sits at the center of the Cash App and Afterpay growth engines, shaping how we deploy marketing, partnerships, integrations, and product enhancements to drive customer growth. We are builders and strategists – developing automated tools that power self-serve analytics while identifying growth opportunities to shape where the business invests next. As the Growth Strategy & Analytics Manager, you will build a foundational growth framework and measurement approach that allows us to size and pressure test trade-offs between competing growth opportunities. You will tackle ambiguous ROI questions and make recommendations on what we should prioritize. Over time, you will operate as a trusted growth advisor and owner – identifying and driving our next big growth moves end to end. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to shape growth strategy at a system level while also rolling up their sleeves to drive impact hands on. You Will - Build and own the framework used to size opportunities, model trade-offs, and guide investment decisions across competing growth bets. - Define a scalable architecture to consistently measure, optimize, and compare growth initiatives, partnering with cross-functional stakeholders (e.g. Finance, Data Science) to build out the data. - Lead ambiguous, high-impact growth questions end-to-end: structuring the problem, defining metrics and methodology, and delivering clear recommendations. - Identify and incubate new growth opportunities, owning the strategy and execution through launch and early optimization stages. - Develop automated tools, dashboards, and self-serve analytics solutions that increase visibility into performance and reduce reliance on ad hoc analysis. You Have - Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience in growth analytics or product, consulting, GTM strategy, BizOps, or a similar quantitative role focused on driving customer growth. - A strong understanding of how growth levers (e.g. paid marketing, CRM, partnerships, integrations, and product enhancements, etc.) interact to drive incremental customer and financial impact. - Experience building structured approaches to evaluate ROI and prioritize investments in environments with imperfect or incomplete data. - Fluency with ROI modeling concepts and metrics such as incrementality, payback periods, LTV, etc. - Demonstrated ability to move seamlessly between strategy and execution – from opportunity sizing to driving performance post-launch. - A high level of curiosity and ownership, with a passion for identifying and testing new growth opportunities. - Proficiency in SQL and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Mode, or Looker. Technologies We Use and Teach - Snowflake - Data visualization (e.g. Tableau, Mode, Looker) - AI and automation tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Goose) We're working to build a more inclusive economy where our customers have equal access to opportunity, and we strive to live by these same values in building our workplace. Block is an equal opportunity employer evaluating all employees and job applicants without regard to identity or any legally protected class. We will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment in accordance with state and local laws and “fair chance” ordinances. We believe in being fair, and are committed to an inclusive interview experience, including providing reasonable accommodations to disabled applicants throughout the recruitment process. We encourage applicants to share any needed accommodations with their recruiter, who will treat these requests as confidentially as possible.
