The Sales Representative is responsible for maintaining relationships with assigned customers. Individuals in this role identify new project opportunities, review plans and specifications, prepare or supervise bids, present bids and follow up to close and add work to committed backlog. This individual will also oversee the work performed and the billing for that work, and will be involved in promptly solving any problems that may arise on the project. This is a remote position located in Boise, ID. Essential Functions • Communicates with assigned customers on a regular basis to check progress of current jobs and get leads for new work that may be coming up. • With coordination from Manager, cultivates new customer relationships. • Secures construction plans and specifications on upcoming work in a timely fashion so that jobs may be taken off and bid. • Participates in take-off process from plans and in construction specification interpretation in order to maximize bid potential. • Reviews all bids for accuracy before submission; submits bids on a timely basis and in a fashion acceptable to the customer. • Follows up on bid results and negotiates to capture jobs where necessary. • Maintains good vendor relationships, and obtains competitive bids from vendors to maximize bid potential and gross margins earned. • Attends project meetings as required by customer and / or circumstances. • Manages projects by proactive communication with customers, review of reports, monitoring of vendor performance and coordination with warehouse / shipping activities. • Participates in physical inventories by counting or verifying assigned areas. • Visits jobsites as needed to attend meetings, check progress of work, or to diagnose and resolve problems. • Identifies and solves problems, either customer related matters or Cook & Boardman internal issues that may involve their work. • Participates in regular sales meetings to assess market opportunities, report on potentials and determine assignments Minimum Qualifications • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree, or an equivalent combination of education/experience • Current and valid US driver’s license • At least 5 years in construction-related environment Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products; some familiarity with industry specific software (Comsense) • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications • Knowledge of commercial door and hardware products and building code requirements • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong mathematical skills • Must have excellent interpersonal and customer service skills • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this role, the employee will regularly communicate verbally and in writing, and must be able to see and hear in a typical office setting. The role frequently involves sitting, walking, standing, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with arms and hands. Work Environment This position operates primarily in a professional office environment. It routinely involves the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, copiers, and filing systems. Occasional business travel may be required. (Independent, chain, etc.) - Place point of sales materials as approved by account manager. - Participate in new store openings and store reset support. - Take pictures; include photos with reporting documents weekly. - Conduct demos upon request. - Develop and maintain an organized list of target/key accounts in the territory to help execute weekly /monthly planning. - Communication as needed with territory sales manager/district manager/regional manager. - Make 15-20 account calls per day. - Track and complete all account calls within the Celsius sales app. - Submit weekly work logs including mileage. - Other records or documentation as assigned.
