Job Description
Senior Product Manager, CPN Payments Engine
Circle
Circle (NYSE: CRCL) is one of the world’s leading internet financial platform companies, building the foundation of a more open, global economy through digital assets, payment applications, and programmable blockchain infrastructure. Circle’s platform includes the world’s largest regulated stablecoin network anchored by USDC, Circle Payments Network for global money movement, and Arc, an enterprise-grade blockchain designed to become the Economic OS for the internet. Enterprises, financial institutions, and developers use Circle to power trusted, internet-scale financial innovation. Learn more at circle.com. What you’ll be part of: Circle is committed to visibility and stability in everything we do. As we grow as an organization, we're expanding into some of the world's strongest jurisdictions. Speed and efficiency are motivators for our success and our employees live by our company values: High Integrity, Future Forward, Multistakeholder, Mindful, and Driven by Excellence. We have built a flexible work environment where new ideas are encouraged and everyone is a stakeholder. What you'll be responsible for: - You will own the product strategy for the CPN Payments Engine — the core infrastructure that powers payment creation, routing, settlement, and lifecycle management across the network. - You'll define the reliability, performance, and capability roadmap that enables OFIs and BFIs to move money at scale, and lead cross-functional execution to turn engine improvements into measurable gains in throughput, latency, and success rates. What you'll work on: - Own the Payments Engine roadmap: Define and execute the product roadmap for payment creation, processing, and settlement. Prioritize features that improve reliability, reduce latency, increase success rates, and unlock new use cases across corridors and rails. - Drive payment performance: Own key engine health metrics — success rate, latency (TTFT, end-to-end), RFI rate, failure root causes. Identify bottlenecks, partner with Engineering to resolve them, and translate improvements into OFI and BFI outcomes. - Shape API and protocol capabilities: Define requirements for the OFI Payments API and BFI quoting/settlement protocols. Balance developer experience with compliance requirements and network reliability. Own the spec process from problem to launch. - Build engine observability and control: Drive investments in payment monitoring, alerting, and operational tooling that give Circle and its partners real-time visibility into payment health and the ability to act on anomalies. - Partner across the network: Work closely with BFI partners, OFI integrations, Compliance, and Operations to understand where the engine creates friction and remove it — unblocking volume, reducing manual intervention, and improving SLAs. What you'll bring to Circle: Core requirements: - 5+ years in Product Management at a payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure company - Experience owning platform or infrastructure products — APIs, processing pipelines, settlement systems, or developer-facing capabilities - Strong analytical skills — comfortable diagnosing payment failures, interpreting latency distributions, and building data-driven cases for prioritization; SQL or equivalent data fluency - Track record of shipping reliability or performance improvements with measurable impact (e.g., success rate, p99 latency, error rate reduction) - Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and BD/Sales to drive outcomes in ambiguous, fast-moving environments - Ability to operate at both the strategic level (roadmap, architecture trade-offs, partner SLAs) and the tactical level (debugging a failed payment, unblocking a specific corridor, writing a precise spec) - Clear, structured communication — can produce decision-ready documents, technical specs, and cross-functional alignment materials Preferred requirements: - Experience in payments networks, settlement systems, or financial infrastructure (cross-border payments, correspondent banking, stablecoins, or blockchain-based settlement) - Familiarity with two-sided network dynamics and how engine reliability affects both supply (BFIs) and demand (OFIs) - Exposure to compliance-forward products where regulatory requirements shape processing logic (e.g., Travel Rule, sanctions screening, RFIs) - Experience with API product management in an enterprise or B2B context — versioning, SLAs, developer documentation - Familiarity with payment lifecycle events, failure taxonomy, and operational tooling for payments monitoring and exception handling Circle is on a mission to create an inclusive financial future, with transparency at our core. We consider a wide variety of elements when crafting our compensation ranges and total compensation packages. Starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note that compensation ranges may differ for candidates in other locations. We are an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status, or any other protected status required by the laws in the locations where we hire. Additionally, Circle participates in the E-Verify Program in certain locations, as required by law. Staff Product Manager - Genomics Workflow Orchestration Platform
IlluminaUnlocking the Power of the Genome
What if the work you did every day could impact the lives of people you know? Or all of humanity? At Illumina, we are expanding access to genomic technology to realize health equity for billions of people around the world. Our efforts enable life-changing discoveries that are transforming human health through the early detection and diagnosis of diseases and new treatment options for patients. Working at Illumina means being part of something bigger than yourself. Every person, in every role, has the opportunity to make a difference. Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible. About the Role Clinical genomics labs today run multiple disconnected applications, creating manual handoffs, transcription errors, and significant integration overhead per site. The future of this space is a unified orchestration layer that connects every step from sample intake to clinical insight, powered by intelligent automation and AI. We’re building that future. As a Staff Product Manager on the Orchestration team, you’ll own the vision and execution of our workflow orchestration platform. You’ll define the capabilities, core concepts, and user experiences that tie together instruments, software systems, and data across the lab and drive adoption from early validation through broad market impact. This is a multi-year, career-defining opportunity to shape how genomics labs operate. It’s not a feature role: it’s a platform leadership role with the scope to define a new category. This is a role for a modern SaaS platform PM who thrives in ambiguity, thinks in systems, and raises the bar for clarity, design quality, and execution. You are also AI-forward in how you work: you use AI daily to research, validate assumptions, prototype ideas, draft narratives, and vibe-code functional proofs of concept. You see AI not as a novelty but as a core part of your operating model as a product manager. The Team You’ll join a team of PMs focused on the orchestration portfolio, reporting to the Director of Product Management. You’ll work closely with engineering, design, and data science partners dedicated to this platform, as well as adjacent product teams across workflow automation, on-prem orchestration, LIMS, and lab automation partnerships. This is a team that takes product craft seriously, embraces AI to work smarter, and believes the best ideas win regardless of where they come from. What You’ll Do Own the orchestration platform vision and roadmap - Define the long-term product strategy for how labs move from fragmented tools to unified orchestration - Prioritize across dry-lab orchestration, wet-lab automation integration, and high-volume lab scaling - Translate complex domain problems into clear product direction that engineering and design can execute against - Define and validate a pricing and packaging model that aligns platform value with customer outcomes Shape the intelligent orchestration layer - Define intelligent workflow automation that adapts based on conditions, context, and user intent - Drive AI-assisted decisioning: optimized batching, predictive QC, anomaly detection, and run-time recommendations - Design platform primitives that allow teams to build capabilities consistently and safely - Define APIs and integration contracts that internal teams and external partners build on confidently - Ensure auditability, traceability, and compliance-ready AI behavior is embedded from day one You won’t own every surface, but you’ll be a key voice pushing the platform toward a modern, intelligent architecture. Champion product excellence and customer empathy - Work with Design to create intuitive workflows that feel human-centered, not machine-centered - Drive clarity and simplicity into complex orchestration surfaces - Obsess over the details: interaction flows, observability, error handling, and user trust signals Lead cross-functional strategy - Influence long-term architecture across engineering, data science, UX, quality, and scientific stakeholders - Coordinate with adjacent product teams on integration contracts and cross-product dependencies - Create crisp narratives that bring order to complex technical choices - Mentor PMs in systems thinking, customer empathy, and AI-enabled product development You’ll be one of the people others seek out when they want to understand the bigger picture. What Success Looks Like Within your first year, you will have: - Defined a compelling platform vision and roadmap that earns buy-in across engineering, design, and leadership - Shipped orchestration capabilities validated through customer engagement - Enabled AI-powered workflow features that measurably reduce user effort and manual steps - Established platform primitives adopted across multiple products - Demonstrated AI-forward working practices that accelerate the team’s ability to research, prototype, and validate - Raised the bar on product execution through better mechanisms, documentation, and cross-team clarity What You Bring Required - 8+ years building SaaS products, platforms, or automation systems - Experience shipping a product from 0→1 or early stage through market validation - Experience with workflow engines, orchestration frameworks, or cloud platform architecture - Deep comfort with ambiguity and complex systems - A tasteful product sense with a strong POV on UX, information architecture, and simplicity - Exceptional communication and narrative writing - Demonstrated success leading multi-team efforts and influencing architecture - Demonstrated fluency with AI tools in your product management practice: you use AI for research, competitive analysis, prototyping, narrative drafting, data - exploration, or vibe-coding functional proofs of concept. You don’t just talk about AI, you ship with it Preferred - Track record of building platform products that other teams build on top of (internal platforms, developer ecosystems, integration layers) - Experience defining new categories or creating markets where none existed before - Experience with outcome-based, usage-based, or value-aligned pricing models - Comfort operating in regulated, compliance-sensitive, or safety-critical environments (any industry) - Familiarity with ML and AI patterns (model lifecycle, inference, data quality) beyond using AI tools - Domain experience in life sciences, diagnostics, lab automation, or scientific workflows is a plus but not required. We value product builders who can learn a domain fast over domain experts learning to build product Why Join Us You’ll define the orchestration layer that connects the entire genomics workflow and infuse it with AI from the ground up. Software orchestration is the next growth lever for the industry, and this role puts you at the center of that shift. This isn’t incremental feature work on a mature product. It’s a platform leadership role with the vision, investment, and team to make it real. You won’t be handed a spec. You’ll be handed a mission and the expectation to turn it into a product that labs want to buy. #LI-REMOTE The estimated base salary range for the Staff Product Manager - Genomics Workflow Orchestration Platform role based in the United States of America is: $141,600 - $212,400. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package. We offer a wide range of benefits as innovative as our work, including access to genomics sequencing, family planning, health/dental/vision, retirement benefits, and paid time off. We are a company deeply rooted in belonging, promoting an inclusive environment where employees feel valued and empowered to contribute to our mission.
