Role Description As the Staff Data Analyst on the Servicing Analytics team, you will play a pivotal role in influencing Upstart’s success. Partnering closely with our Servicing product management, operations, engineering, and ML teams, you’ll work directly with key stakeholders, helping drive understanding, insights, decision-making, and data infrastructure relating to the development, optimization, and enhancement of our recoveries and collections strategy. You’ll contribute to key areas such as: - Identifying areas of opportunity via business reviews with leaders and product experiments. - Driving operational efficiency. - Conducting in-depth analyses. - Building business intelligence pipelines. - Designing A/B tests. - Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive impacts. Qualifications - 8+ years work experience in increasingly senior analytical roles in technology and finance industry. - Strong background in payments, product, or operations analytics, with hands-on proficiency in SQL, Python and/or R. - Exceptional track record of deriving actionable insights from analysis and analytical storytelling. - Experience working with large datasets, unstructured data, data modeling, and data pipelines using tools like Databricks, DBT, Looker, Snowflake, Redshift, Tableau, Mode. - Degree in Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science or other quantitative fields, providing a solid grounding in analytical and problem-solving skills essential for success. Requirements - Strong analytical and quantitative background with experience in conducting and evaluating A/B tests, ideally in Financial and/or Operational related fields. - Expertise in consumer lending, and knowledge of post origination servicing and/or operations. - Skilled at crafting executive-ready narratives around complex business topics and successfully influencing VP+ decision making. - Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and in deep partnership with cross-functional teams. - Demonstrated ability to balance multiple workstreams and priorities; experience influencing up and cross-functionally to maximize positive impact to the organization. - Experience in coaching and mentoring junior team members on technical subjects. The Role: We are seeking a Data Librarian / Data Steward to support our Master Data operations on the MDM platform. This individual will play a key role in ensuring the data quality, integrity, accuracy, completeness, and compliance of master data records with organizational standards and policies, across our enterprise systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of data governance principles, attention to detail, and experience working with enterprise data in tools like Profisee, Salesforce, or ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP). Librarian / Data Steward Location: Remote (Preference for Southeast or Midwest – Metro Atlanta, Florida, Chicago area, or Austin) Key Responsibilities: Master Data Operations - Review and validate new master data (e.g. customer, product) creation and change requests in the Profisee MDM system. - Ensure all requests meet standard operating procedures (SOPs), business rules, and data quality standards. - Verify master data attributes such as names, addresses, tax IDs (where applicable), and hierarchy relationships using internal and external reference sources (e.g., Melissa Data, Dun & Bradstreet). - Approve, reject, or route data requests to data owners or business stewards based on workflow rules.
