We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect with strong knowledge of healthcare data and processes, including enrollment, claims, eligibility, and related systems. The ideal candidate will have a business-focused mindset, working closely with business teams to understand requirements and design solutions that address complex challenges. This role emphasizes collaboration and problem-solving over deep technical migration expertise. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: - Collaborate with senior stakeholders, including business leaders and executive management, to define and execute the architectural vision aligned with business objectives - Partner closely with business teams to understand healthcare-related processes (enrollment, claims, eligibility) and translate business needs into actionable technical solutions - Facilitate JAD sessions and requirements workshops with cross-functional teams and architects to design solutions addressing complex business challenges - Develop and maintain comprehensive architecture blueprints and technical designs for enterprise-level systems and applications - Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams to implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective technical solutions - Translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical specifications and architecture documents - Design and oversee integration strategies between complex systems, applications, and third-party services to ensure seamless interoperability - Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior architects and development teams, ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices - Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and platforms to enhance system performance, reliability, and business outcomes - Analyze and optimize system performance, scalability, and security, identifying and addressing potential bottlenecks and vulnerabilities - Review and validate solution designs to ensure compliance with organizational standards, industry best practices, and healthcare regulatory requirements - Conduct technical risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address project-related challenges and uncertainties - Collaborate with project management teams to ensure timely delivery and successful implementation of architectural solutions - Lead the development of Proof of Concepts (POCs) and prototypes to validate design approaches, technologies, and integration methods - Maintain up-to-date documentation of architectural designs, solutions, and implementation processes for reference and compliance purposes - Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the architecture team to enhance efficiency, quality, and innovation in solution delivery You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience - 8+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, system design, and software development - 5+ years of experience with microservices architecture, APIs, RESTful services, and SOA - 2+ years of experience leading large-scale projects and cross-functional teams - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native principles - Healthcare expertise is critical-must have hands-on experience with healthcare data, processes, and regulatory standards - Solid understanding of business initiatives and ability to partner with business teams to solve BI-related problems - Familiarity with architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), design patterns, and best practices - Knowledge of databases (SQL, NoSQL), data modeling, and integration technologies - Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools Preferred Qualifications: - Advanced certifications (AWS, Azure, TOGAF) - Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and security best practices - Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working with diverse teams - Ability to lead business-driven solution design and present technical concepts to non-technical audiences - Familiarity with Agile methodologies and JAD facilitation - Proven ability to innovate and deliver solutions that solve business challenges *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy. We are seeking a Sr. Principal ERP Architect to define, own, and execute the target-state enterprise architecture for global supply chain operations as part of a multi-year digital transformation journey. This role is accountable for the architectural integrity of the ERP digital core and its seamless, real-time integration ecosystem, spanning execution platforms such as WMS, TMS, OMS, and external partner systems. The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on architecture leader with deep expertise in ERP, distributed systems, messaging platforms (including IBM MQ), and modern API-based architectures (ASP.NET and REST) - capable of delivering scalable, resilient, event-driven supply chain ecosystems aligned to business outcomes. Your role: 1. Target State Architecture & Transformation Leadership - Define and own the end-to-end target state architecture for global supply chain systems, with ERP as the digital backbone. - Lead architectural decisions across a multiyear transformation roadmap, balancing modernization, business continuity, and scalability. - Translate business strategy into technology blueprints, reference architectures, and transition states. 2.
