Associate Director, Field Medical Capabilities

• Elevate the performance and capabilities of medical field teams across the AbbVie enterprise. • Identify business needs and develop functional enhancements and professional skill training. • Act as a strategic partner, collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. • Assess developmental gaps and design effective capability solutions that align with organizational goals. • Create and execute the annual development and project roadmap for field medical teams. • Collaborate with leadership to identify and close capability gaps. • Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance field team effectiveness. • Promote continuous improvement by enhancing existing programs and leading new capabilities initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Advanced degree (PharmD, PhD, MD, MBA) with 3-5 years relevant experience or Bachelors with 5-7 years relevant experience in pharmaceuticals and/or Field Excellence.
- Strong experience in matrixed environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to assess and act upon changing business needs quickly.
- Demonstrated influence without authority, including with senior leaders.
- Strong leadership and strategic thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, presentation, project management, and decision-making skills.
- Effective management of external vendors and budgets.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and risk.
- Strong working knowledge of compliance, regulatory, and legal considerations for field medical activities.
