Field Engineer

• Support daily field operations, including installation oversight, inspections, and coordination of project activities. • Prepare and submit accurate daily field reports capturing work progress, workforce counts, equipment on site, and notable incidents. • Manage and track all Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and change orders in coordination with the project management team. • Maintain a comprehensive project document library including the executed contract and SOW, 100% drawings and renderings, approved submittals, RFI logs, and baseline schedules. • Ensure all safety documents and Emergency Action Plans are current, accessible, and compliant with site requirements. • Serve as the on-site face of JANSON, consistently reflecting the company's brand standards in all communications and interactions. • Communicate clearly and professionally with government clients, military personnel, subcontractors, and the JANSON project management team. • Prepare and deliver leadership brief messaging, mission impact summaries, and schedule status reports for senior stakeholder visits. • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs), base facility managers, and other government stakeholders. • Maintain and reference a current Stakeholder Directory (org chart) to ensure proper communication channels are followed. • Support leadership site visits by preparing safety reports, risk briefings, and project status summaries. • Enforce quality standards in accordance with approved submittals, specifications, and 100% construction drawings. • Conduct routine site inspections and document findings with photographs and written observations. • Coordinate with quality control personnel and third-party inspectors as required by contract. • Identify site risks related to safety, schedule, budget, or quality and escalate to project leadership promptly. • Maintain familiarity with site-specific Emergency Action Plans and ensure subcontractor compliance. • Document and communicate top risks and proposed mitigation strategies during leadership visits and weekly reporting cycles.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of field engineering or construction management experience, preferably on federal, DoD, or government-funded projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Proficiency with project management tools, scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project), and standard office applications.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage senior government and military stakeholders professionally.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required base access credentials as required by project assignments.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work across multiple project sites simultaneously.
  • Understanding of workplace safety standards (OSHA awareness).

The Trail Construction Operator is a construction-based, non-exempt, hourly paid position responsible for assisting IMBA Trail Solutions (TS) with mountain bike trail construction and operational duties. Work includes physical labor, the use of hand tools, heavy equipment operations, tool and equipment maintenance/repair, and executing projects within the outlined scope of work. A Trail Construction Operator works with the TS Director of Construction and Operations, TS Construction Manager, Project Managers, TS staff, and subcontractors. The position assumes a variable schedule depending on workload, from 0 - 50+ hours per week, 7 days a week depending on project schedules, weather and other variables. A typical work week is Mon-Fri, 45 hours a week. Extensive travel is required. While traveling lodging, ME&I and mileage are covered at or near GSA rates. LOCATION: The Trail Construction Operator position is a remote home-based position requiring extended travel throughout the United States. COMPENSATION: The Trail Construction Operator position has an hourly rate of $23 - $34 per hour. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Project Execution: - Ability to operate heavy equipment in a variety of terrain with the primary machine being excavators. - Ability to conduct 45 - 50+ hours manual labor per week. - Ability to construct sustainable and creative mountain biking tails. - Design and construct trail and features per specifications and client expectations. - Provide TS Director of Construction and Operations, TS Construction Manager, and TS Project Managers with project status updates. - Perform and inspect work for compliance with terms and specifications of contract. - Purchase and ensure materials are on-site as needed. - Work in a variety of situations including remote and urban trail construction. - Ability to travel for prolonged periods of time while scheduled on projects.
