Role Description The highly organized and goal-oriented Senior Technical Program Manager (you!) will help drive collaboration for cross-functional project teams and manage detailed plans to ensure efficient and effective delivery. You will follow proven project management methodologies (project plans, RAID logs, communications plans…) that will help the development teams achieve their objectives. You will work closely alongside engineering managers, developers, product managers, designers, and other key business partners. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager of Technical Program Management, a function within our engineering organization. This is a highly valued team of professionals that supports the most critical cross-functional projects for the department. The team has strong interpersonal connections, providing individuals with an internal network for knowledge sharing within the job family. Responsibilities - Project Management & Execution: - Plan, schedule, and ensure execution of project tasks, milestones, and deliverables related to the platform initiatives. - Create and maintain project management artifacts, including (but not limited to): communication plans, risk logs, decision logs, escalation procedures, project schedules, scope statements, high-level and detailed business requirements, and technical specification documents. - Fully own the project management life cycle: Plan, schedule, and ensure execution of project tasks, milestones, and deliverables. - Identify blockers and risks early, working to resolve or escalate when appropriate. - Proactively identify and implement operational improvements, enhancements, and system customizations that meet business requirements. - Cross-functional Collaboration: - Partner with engineers, designers, product managers, data team, and business partners to plan and execute highly cross-functional programs. - Facilitate cross-functional meetings and drive alignment on dependencies, and manage towards the shared objectives. - Provide transparent, holistic, and consistent communication adapted as needed for stakeholders in multiple disciplines and levels across our global offices. - Technical Skills: Architectural Literacy & Troubleshooting - Technical Design & Dependency Mapping: Ability to lead technical design reviews and proactively identify integration risks, data flow bottlenecks, or infrastructure dependencies across complex systems. - Systems Observability & Triage: Hands-on experience using monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Datadog, Splunk, New Relic) to assist teams in triaging production issues and facilitating high-quality technical post-mortems. - API & Data Literacy: Comfortable exploring API documentation (Swagger/Postman) and using basic SQL to extract data for project validation, ensuring technical requirements align with actual system behavior. - Jira Skills: Operational Efficiency & Reporting - Workflow Configuration & Automation: Practical experience configuring Jira project workflows, custom fields, and basic automation rules to eliminate manual status chasing and improve team velocity. - Custom Reporting & JQL: Proficiency in JQL (Jira Query Language) to build customized filters and dashboards that provide stakeholders with real-time visibility into sprint health, blockers, and delivery timelines. - Dependency Visualization: Skilled in using Jira (including tools like Advanced Roadmaps or structure plugins) to map cross-team links, visualize the critical path, and manage capacity planning across multiple workstreams. Qualifications - 5+ years of Project Management experience, including analysis, project management, process management, program management, people management, vendor management, and client management. - Experience working with technical teams. - Experience successfully managing large-scale initiatives. - Jira experience. - Smartsheet experience is a plus. Work Model This role is Together@TKWW-eligible. If you’re based in NYC, we follow a hybrid schedule, balancing in-office collaboration on some days of the week and work-from-home flexibility. If you’re in Austin, this position is remote for now, with the potential to shift to a hybrid model as our local team grows. This role includes on-call rotations to ensure the stability of our systems. Specific schedules and compensation will be discussed during the interview process.
