Location: Hershey preferred, open to remote Summary: The Sr. Analyst, SRGM Trade Strategy will support the development of customer investment strategy and tactical trade promotion optimization recommendations within Hershey’s US Confections, Salty Snacks, Grocery and Protein product lines for Sales teams supporting Large Format, Small Format, Walmart/Club and/or Digital customer base. The Sr. Analyst will also execute complex analyses that support SRGM Pricing and Trade leads in the creation and implementation of enhanced promotional strategies for Hershey’s U.S. portfolio. This will require strong collaboration with other functions including Sales, Customer Planning, Commerical Planning, Marketing, Category Management and Finance. This is an exciting opportunity to help achieve Hershey’s ambition of having a best-in-class Revenue Management function. This position requires personal leadership and initiative, critical and strategic thinking, cross-functional collaboration, ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, and strong customer/channel knowledge and business acumen. Major Duties/Responsibilities: - Executes complex and comprehensive analyses to support the development of national and/or channel-level promotion strategies that deliver on U.S. portfolio/brand business objectives (e.g., share vs. profit, innovation, mix improvement) - Maintains U.S. Large Format, Small Format, and Walmart/Club promotion guidelines and guardrails, informed by insights from deeper channel/customer-specific analyses, that minimize marketplace disruption - Works directly with U.S. Large Format, Small Format, Walmart/Club and digicom Sales teams, Customer Planning and Sales Finance to build optimized, event-level annual promotion plans during the annual Sales planning process, and to conduct regular in-year reviews of promotion effectiveness vs. plans - Assists in the development, management, and execution of a performance-based trade architecture that incents value-creating marketplace behavior - Assists in the development, management, and execution of performance management processes, including standardized KPI reporting for planning and business review purposes Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform major duties/responsibilities: - Very strong technical skills (e.g., Excel, Powerpoint / Thinkcell, Tableau, PowerBI, Alteryx), with proven ability to synthesize multiple data sources (e.g., internal TPM and P&L data, 3rd party syndicated data) to develop insights and strategy recommendations - Strong analytical skills and business / financial acumen - Strong collaboration and communication skills - Problem-solving mentality, intellectually curious, strong critical thinking skills - Entrepreneurial skills and style - Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously - Strong knowledge of syndicated data (e.g. IRI, Nielsen) and its nuances - Strong working knowledge of SAP is a plus Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: - BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Business Administration or Equivalent - 3+ years of business experience, with strong preference for multiple years of experience in FMCG analytical role(s) - Ideally experience in Sales, Finance, Marketing, or analytical functions (e.g., Category Mgmt) - Familiarity with FMCG industry customer base and working knowledge of retail merchandising and in store execution tactics preferred #LI-MH1 #LI-Remote The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
